Vladimir Putin said today that the West's 'attempt to have global dominance' is coming to an end as he warned it is trying to 'cancel Russia' with an 'economic blitzkreig' of sanctions.
The Russian President, speaking in a televised government meeting in Moscow, said that keeping Russia in check was a long-term policy of the West, and that its economic measures were short-sighted as 'most countries do not support sanctions'.
Putin claimed that the conflict had merely been a pretext for the West to impose sanctions because 'they just don't want a strong and sovereign Russia'.
'The West doesn't even bother to hide the fact that its aim is to damage the entire Russian economy, every Russian,' he said, adding that the West's actions would 'only strengthen' Moscow.

It would be nice if American politicians cared more about their own citizens than globalism.
Not only do sanctions not work, but they’ll hurt ordinary Americans far more than Russia. It’s the same philosophy behind most stringent regulatory action, that regulations do exactly what they intend with no unintended consequences.
Russian women are voting “Nyet” with their uteruses. Russia will cancel itself within 15-20 years. But the US should help that process along in any way we can.

Invades a neighbor, liberating schools and hospitals, and has the chutzpah to whine about getting a blitzkrieg on his wallet.

The Ottoman Empire fell, but its Turkish core went on to a revitalized, nation state.
The Japanese Empire fell, but was replaced by a prosperous nation state.
It might be a good thing for America to shed its foreign "obligations," and limit its focus to its own national self-interest.
Note how Putin defines the “West” and “Russia” separately. They don’t consider themselves Western in any real sense. Russia has always been the wicked sister, looking with jealous envy and contemptuous spite at the prosperous, wealthy Western Europeans (and eventually America too). Unable to join the party, they sought only to damage the West.
Patton was probably right. They seem to be mongoloid in ideology. Always preferring some form of top-down man-god control or corrupt autocracy.
Russia was trying to cancel Ukraine. Guess who got cancelled.

As usual the liberals fail in their attempt to accomplish a goal with a type of misunderstood diplomacy. The actions they are currently taking, which have little if any effect, are the way they have surmised to peacefully make Russia stop an action. Putin is not taking it that way. He considers it an attack and will in time retaliate. And he’ll do it the same way by cutting off our natural gas shipments which he has already done to some European countries and Biden has set us up for and while still refusing to reverse his actions to protect us.
This stop or I’ll say stop again ploy is worthless and the libs know it. But Putin is not playing along with it by considering it less than the deployment of weapons and cash to support the continued seceding of a Russian territory that broke away from them in the early 90’s when Soviet Russia lost power. Putin wants the Ukraine to go back to the Soviet times and the sovereignty that country once boasted.
We should either go in and fight or get out of it. We owe the Ukraine nothing and they have been a thorn in our back side for a while. This is a civil war. Let’s don’t make it into a world war.
