Tuesday on CNBC’s “Squawk Box,” Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg was asked about the possibility of the White House putting a hold on the nationwide gas tax until gas prices come down in the United States.
Buttigieg noted President Joe Biden was releasing oil from the reserves to help stabilize oil prices and suggested moving on from energy independence. He also argued that no “political figure” directly controls oil and gas prices.

Reading comprehension matters. Differentiate between direct and indirect. Direct means they are fixing the price. Indirect means they are making policy decisions that will assuredly impact price positions.

I’ll bet the only reason the market is down right now is because no one is canceling buying oil from Russia.
In fact, there might eventually be more in the market if China gets special rates and other asian nations as well.
US oil should take profits to offset the COVID crash where they can now imo. The market will find a new equilibrium while the dollar continues to lose value.
