ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — A convicted cop killer—invited to speak at a local college. That's a claim going around on social media.
But is that really true? That's tonight's Fact Check.
Jalil Muntaqim, also known as Anthony Bottom, lives in Brighton. Back in 1971, he killed two New York City Police officers. He was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison. But now he's out on parole, and next month he's scheduled to speak at SUNY Brockport.
According to the posting on Brockport's events calendar, it will be "an intellectual conversation on his time with the Black Panthers and serving nearly 50 years as a political prisoner."

The dean of the college, Heidi Macpherson, sent a letter fraught with grammatical errors justifying the speaker FKA Anthony Bottom. Just WOW!
So now we have Saint George of Floyd and Saint Anthony of Bottom.
Wood chipper material.
Fact check: The cop killer is not SPEAKING at the college, he’s having a CONVERSATION. So, mostly false! Lol
Our country is too dumb to continue.
Isn’t that a prerequisite before addressing a college is to be a cop killer or some other Stalinazi terrorist/criminal ?
I remember that name, he was the ringleader from the “Black Liberation Army” hit squad from the “Badge of the Assassin” murders.
Fact Check: Does the sun rise in the east?
It’s funny how that works. Some guy not of a protected class says something inappropriate, 20 years ago. That comment surfaces, and the guy is cancelled. His career is ruined and he is forever shunned.
Yet here we have a multiple murderer being given the podium on a college campus. And you can bet that his speech will be wildly applauded.
Societies that accept this sort of thing cannot survive for long. Something’s gotta give.
Thank you for your continued willingness to engage in critical and respectful dialogue.
Sincerely,
President Macpherson
ATHENA winner talks about inspiration, meaning of leadership

Greater Rochester Chamber Of Commerce
Heidi Macpherson, president at The College at Brockport, has won this year’s ATHENA Award.
The annual honor goes to a professional female leader who has demonstrated significant achievements in business, community service, and the advancement of women.
Macpherson credited her parents for instilling in her a sense of what was possible very early in her life, by setting an expectation.
“My mother started almost every conversation with me as a child with the words, ‘When you go to college,’ “ she recalled.
Macpherson not only went to college, she also studied abroad and later taught and held leadership positions at a university in England as she made a career out of higher education.
“It changed and transformed my life and it made me, I think, a citizen of the world,” she said.
For Macpherson, a leader is someone who asks a lot of questions and listens to the answers. She said for many years, when women were denied positions of power, communities missed out on their ability to connect to others and take the best of people’s ideas and make something bigger.
“Now, it’s not that every woman that can do that, and it’s not that no man can,” she added, “but I think the more diverse voices we have around the table, the better opportunity we have to ensure that people’s understanding of what leadership is can be expanded and transformed.”
Rochester, she said, is a community that excels at bringing women to the table.
It’s crazy. The lefties are crazy.
Maybe a thousand blows and stab wounds?
No, that's reserved for elderly Asian women.
Maybe getting shoved in front of a subway train?
Nope, no subways in Brockport.
Maybe attacked in the Walmart parking lot?
Nah, she shops at Saks.
“Fact checks” have been weaponized to blindly discount anything that goes against The Narrative.

“Entitled” ummm it is titled. Possibly a Freudian slip because this guy is full of entitlement.
Also she misspelled his original name.
Domestic terrorist and murderer of two police officers. There’s no ‘intellectual conversation’ to be had. There’s no deeper understanding to be achieved. There is no rationalizing his actions.
If his goal is to monetize his criminal behavior as a speaker - I hope the surviving family members sue him into oblivion for damages.
He doesn’t do any work now. Your tax dollars support him and the White Co-Eds he travels with to take care of his needs. Do you think that he is going to the College for free. His fee will probably more than you earn in a year. And as an added bonus, he may get to add to his stable of White Co-Ed Assistants.
