The Prime Minsters of Poland, Slovenia and the Czech Republic have departed on a train bound for Kyiv to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.

The train with the leaders on board departed before 9 a.m. local time, the head of the chancellery of the Prime Minister of Poland, Michal Dworczyk, said Tuesday.

Traveling to the Ukrainian capital is Poland's Mateusz Morawiecki and his deputy Jarosław Kaczyński, Slovenia's Janez Janša and the Czech Republic's Petr Fiala.

The purpose of the visit is "to confirm the unequivocal support of the entire European Union for the sovereignty and independence of Ukraine and to present a broad package of support for the Ukrainian state and society," a government spokesperson said.

Essentially agree to Putin’s basic terms

Ukraine wii remain neutral and not join NATO or the EU. This should be easy since unanimous approval is needed from the members of these organizations and there are criteria that must be met, which Ukraine is far from meeting.

Recognize Crimea as part of Russia. Crimea is critical to Russian national security. They have held it for 8 years. A plebiscite was held and the residents overwhelmingly voted to be part of Russia.

Accept the autonomy of the eastern provinces. The separatist movement has been ongoing for 8 years with daily fighting that has lulled thousands. The Ukrainian government does not control these regions now.

“This is insane. All it takes is one mistake”

All of these countries hate the Russians and want NATO involved. They will keep poking Putin. The moment he touches the hair on one Pole the entire country will March east to revenge 400 years of Russian depravity..

Agree. Putin wants out. He needs a face-saving exit. These heads of state can help Zelensky craft one and provide the support to give Zelensky a “win.”

I am envisioning the Russians decapitating the leadership of all four countries with one strike.

They probably already have puppet governments organized and ready to arrive to lead in the national mournings.

We are using Ukraine as a proxy to bleed Russia and remove Putin. It is a cynical operation. We must destroy Ukraine to save it. What is the end game? What is the definition of winning in Ukraine?

Who is going to pay for the rebuilding of Ukraine? With millions of refugees in Europe and around the globe, it will take years to make many of the larger cities habitable. It will take hundreds of billions of dollars to repair the damage. And Ukraine is still one of the most corrupt countries in the world.

We have declared economic war on Russia destroying their economy and currency. How do we walk that back? We have started a new Cold War. And we are still waiting for the other shoe to drop on Russian retaliation, which will probably take the form of asymmetric warfare.

I’d be bombing the train myself.

That would be his best chance for survival. Make it look like the Russians did it. Who would know?

One BOOM, and you instantly have NATO in the war on your side.

Can you imagine being fed so much disinformation that you think that?

Azov is doing plenty of harm to their own. There are lots of stories. Just like the Baltics though, make sure you believe everything the media tells you.

How about Putin leaves and Ukraine joins whoever they heck they want and the hell with what Russia thinks, and sorry the Soviet days are no more, nor do they have a say in what a independent nation does, why is this hard to understand I don’t get it.

I have seen enough of war and destruction firsthand. It is time to end this debacle. Ukrainians are being used as cannon fodder. Their needless sacrifice needs to end. They have been in a shooting war for over 8 years. To what end?

Fortunately, that is not your decision.

There are men made of sterner stuff than you making the decisions

I don't believe that deal is on the table any more.

At best it looks more like an East/West partition of the country, and if Ukraine doesn't give up soon the entire country may cease to exist.

That is not the reality on the ground. Do you remember the Cuban missile crisis? Panama? The Monroe Doctrine? Great powers have spheres of influence. You ignore the historical context of the relationship of Ukraine and Russia.

Incidentally, during the Soviet period, natives of Ukraine held major, including the highest, posts in the leadership of the unified state,” wrote Putin, in an article titled “On the Historical Unity of Russians and Ukrainians” last year, referring to the Soviet Union.

“Suffice it to say that Nikita Khrushchev and Leonid Brezhnev, whose party biography was most closely associated with Ukraine, led the Communist Party of the Soviet Union (CPSU) for almost 30 years,” Putin remarked.

Beyond Soviet leadership, Ukrainian historical influence over Russia is clear in an inviolable fashion because of the fact that Kiev was the capital of the first Russian state in history, dating back to the 9th century.

Ukrainian novelists like Nikolai Gogol’s hero Taras Bulba, the story of Ukraine’s famous Cossacks, have also been a great inspiration for many Russian generations for centuries.
