An employee at Channel One Russia, the leading news network in the country, crashed a live television show to heckle Vladimir Putin and protest the war. She later released a taped message denouncing Putin and his war.
She ran on the screen with a sign reading ‘No war” and she yelled in Russian “No to war, stop the war.” The brave woman is Maria Ovsyanikova, an editor for the station. She was detained by police and can expect the worst after Russia passed new laws cracking down on dissent from the media.
Her sign in Russian said: “Stop the war! Don’t believe propaganda! They’re lying to you here.” And “Russians against war” written in English. The broadcast immediately cut away but not fast enough.
The anchor, Ekaterina Andreeva, is a very well-respected figure in Russian media.
Ovsyanikova filmed a video before her protest that her friends released on social media. She said:

“What is currently happening in Ukraine is a crime. Russia is a country-aggressor.”
“All responsibility for this aggression lies on the conscience of one person: Vladimir Putin.
“My father is Ukrainian, my mother is Russian. They were never enemies.
“This necklace around my neck signifies that Russia should immediately stop this fratricidal war and our brotherly nations can make peace with each other.
“Unfortunately, for the last several years I worked at Channel One, promoting Kremlin propaganda and for that I am very ashamed right now.
“I am ashamed that I allowed lies to be told from TV screens, that I allowed Russian people to be zombified.
“We stayed quiet when all of this was just getting started in 2014.
“We didn’t come out to protest when the Kremlin poisoned Navalny.
“We continued to quietly watch this inhumane regime.
“Now the whole world turned away from us.
“Ten generations of our descendants won’t be able to wash away the shame of this fratricidal war.”
Ovsyannikova also appears to have recorded a video beforehand in which she blames Putin for the war and apologizes for her work on Russian state TV news.

The timing of these recent events is too coincidental. I suspect the West whispered threats in Putin’s ear instigating the inevitable offensive on Ukraine. And the West knew it could rely on the haughty ones to cloud objectivity.

Just a few points on that NATO thangey -
1. For 45 years, the distance between CCCP and NATO was anywhere between roughly 3” inches, all the way up to approximately 150 yards.
((And that was with CCCP and its Warsaw Pact tipping out at near 55,000 nuclear warheads, 67,000 tanks, more than 70,000 armored infantry fighting vehicles, and over 71,000 artillery guns. Except or nuclear warheads, in each category, NATO was outnumbered anywhere from 8-10 to 1 ( or more), on a border which was only feet from CCCP. The only thing keeping Moscow from rapidly smashing all of Europe was MAD, and US nuclear artillery. Thankfully, God raised up Reagan, whi crushed CCCP with finance and trade policy, there would be a necessary CCCP transition to CIS, and there has been reprieve.
2. NATO has not admitted a nation since 2004.
3. While NATO has an “anyone is welcome to apply policy”, NATO membership requires unanimous consent for membership, and several prominent EU nations have preemptively said no to Ukraine membership, specifically because of the large 9 nation, Kremlin controlled CIS military threat, and a strong Beijing/Moscow alliance which
has existed since 2009/2010, but was just made public in the last month.
4. Ukraine began the NATO “MAP” process required for all applicants, but didn’t apply for NATI membership until Russia took Eastern Ukraine and Crimea in 2014. After Moscow took the Donbass region and rich resources and Crimea, nearly 70% of the population wanted NATO membership, or nearly double the number from 2008.
