Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin is “unable to support” Sarah Bloom Raskin’s nomination to the Federal Reserve, potentially bringing her candidacy to an end.
The senator from West Virginia — a key swing vote in an evenly divided Senate — said he had reviewed President Joe Biden’s pick for the central bank and wasn’t able to support the bid due to some of Raskin’s public statements on climate change.
“Her previous public statements have failed to satisfactorily address my concerns about the critical importance of financing an all-of-the-above energy policy to meet our nation’s critical energy needs,” Manchin said in a statement.

True, but the same could be said about any elected official. They are in it for themselves at this point, whatever the motivation. Trump may be an exception, because he already has it all and has done it all.
