“Ukraine says Russia is trying to bring in Belarus”

Talk about the pot calling the kettle black, considering that Ukraine has been on Western TV non-stop BEGGING that the West start WW3.

There has to be a way to get food and water to Mariopol. Once again Russia is willing to starve Ukrainians. Nasty habit, vicious and heartless.

Lukashenko may be calculating that a weaker and defeated Russia might make him completely independent of Putin, rather than just his plaything. That’s could be why he’s holding back. In fact, if he were confident of Putin’s defeat, he might actually attack the Russian forces around Kyiv, which would be the coup de grace for the Russian presence in northern Ukraine.

Didn’t a Russian armor column invade Ukraine from Belarus?

Actually, an armored division? IIRC.

North of Kyiv?

Who knows?

Putin May be getting desperate. I hope he gets desperate enough to settle for access to his Black Sea port in the Crimea, and leave the Ukraine intact.

Lukashenko was initially acting like he would use his own forces, but has so far only “allowed” Russia to use Belarus as a base (no different than if Poland allowed Ukraine to use it’s bases). I think Lukashenko would be wise to continue his current policy, but in the end I think he is doing whatever Putin tells him to do. If Putin tells him to invade, it’s because Putin is under internal pressure to finish the war quickly, and he can’t do it without Belarus.

If the famous 40 mile long convoy is full of troops and/or armaments, why does Putin need help from anyone? And why isn’t the convoy being used to engage the Ukrainians? Could be the trucks are mostly empty and we’re meant to scare the Ukrainians into suing for peace?

Yes, Russia put at least 30,000 troops into Ukraine through Belarus, as well as S-400 missiles, a squadron of SU-35's and lots of logistics to supply the invading forces. And Belarus does this without fear of being attacked by the west. If Belarus had been neutral, Russia's invasion of Western Ukraine would have failed.

Had to move the western tear jerk meter a bit more by mentioning ‘mosque’. That gets the war monger juices flowing. Ask the Serbs

The convoy has spread out and has been fighting through smaller towns outside of Kiev. These forces are dependent on Belarus for their supply lines and air support.

The “40 mile convoy” was the logistic “tail” plus other elements of the mechanized force sent to seize Kiev. But since that attack was stopped many miles from Kiev it all backed up on a single highway. Those thousands of vehicles occupy a lot of road.

The Russians have spent a week and a half trying to expand west and south out of that area onto marginal roads.

It looks like the Russians have managed to deploy most of that off the highway, plus portions have returned to Belarus. If there is going to be a major battle for Kiev it should begin soon.

Belarus is already in, since they hosted Russian troops for the invasion, from which the northern thrust towards Kiev was initiated. Belarus can’t claim neutrality now.

“Not propaganda.”

McGruff is pro-Russia. Take everything he says through that filter.
