Lukashenko may be calculating that a weaker and defeated Russia might make him completely independent of Putin, rather than just his plaything. That’s could be why he’s holding back. In fact, if he were confident of Putin’s defeat, he might actually attack the Russian forces around Kyiv, which would be the coup de grace for the Russian presence in northern Ukraine.

Putin May be getting desperate. I hope he gets desperate enough to settle for access to his Black Sea port in the Crimea, and leave the Ukraine intact.
Lukashenko was initially acting like he would use his own forces, but has so far only “allowed” Russia to use Belarus as a base (no different than if Poland allowed Ukraine to use it’s bases). I think Lukashenko would be wise to continue his current policy, but in the end I think he is doing whatever Putin tells him to do. If Putin tells him to invade, it’s because Putin is under internal pressure to finish the war quickly, and he can’t do it without Belarus.
If the famous 40 mile long convoy is full of troops and/or armaments, why does Putin need help from anyone? And why isn’t the convoy being used to engage the Ukrainians? Could be the trucks are mostly empty and we’re meant to scare the Ukrainians into suing for peace?
