Pfizer CEO says a fourth booster shot 'is necessary'
Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla said on Sunday that a fourth dose of the COVID-19 vaccine will be necessary to continue to help keep hospitalizations manageable and sicknesses more mild.
"Right now, the way that we have seen, it is necessary, a fourth booster right now. The protection that you are getting from the third, it is good enough, actually quite good for hospitalizations and deaths," Bourla said while appearing on CBS's "Face the Nation."

Look at what Pfizer received from the federal government to develop the vaccine. Here is a list of the individual grants from the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority, an office the the Department of Health and Human Services (BARDA) which provides grants to promote research in the development of medical devices, tests, vaccines and therapeutics. Here are the actual grants for Covid vaccine research paid to Pfizer:
July 21, 2020 — $1.95 billion
December 22, 2020 — $2.01 billion
February 11, 2021 — $2.01 billion
July 21, 2021 — $4.87 billion
Oct 22, 2021 — $1.2 billion
So the federal government paid the development cost. Then Congress gave Pfizer absolute immunity so it has no worries about the side effects now being reported, much less the long term side effects yet to be seen. Then the government buys all of the product, at a highly profitable price. What a business model — no R&D cost, no marketing and selling cost, no legal liability, guaranteed profitable sales.
Of course he wants more.
Since when does a CEO tell citizens what they are required to do? I don’t recall electing this guy.

Too early to say. We might see a new variant later this fall or winter. Last summer we saw a lull in cases like now. I hope it goes away and that covid-19 mutates so that it is like the common flu and we all have developed immunity to it, naturally and vaccinated.
