Sen. Lindsey Graham, while insisting he does not want to see U.S. boots on the ground in Ukraine, Sunday called for a no-fly zone to be instituted over the war-torn country if Russian President Vladimir Putin orders a chemical weapons strike, as that would be a war crime.
The South Carolina Republican also during an interview on Fox News' "Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo," accused President Joe Biden of having "folded" on the question of sending former Soviet MiG fighters from Poland into Ukraine and rejected the president's contention that allowing the jets would mean the beginning of "World War III."
"I am all in," Graham said. "I don't want, no boots on the ground, no-fly zone yet. If chemical weapons are used by Putin, then I support a no-fly zone."

The problem with non-nuclear WMDs is they will blow in your face. Russia is not that far from the fighting.
@CBSDavidMartin says that a Pentagon official he talked to this morning said there is no movement of chemical weapons into Ukraine, but the concern is that Russia may move to seize a biomedical research facility, weaponize a pathogen, then blame it on Ukraine & the U.S.

Is Linda prepared to have American pilots shooting down Russian planes? That is a serious escalation of the war. A no fly zone is WWIII.
If I was a Ukrainian I would see this—find or make some mustard gas and drop it on a site where the Russians had bombed even if it killed a hundred people—Get camera crews to film the dying children, the stark horror of it and blame Russia! Then the USA and NATO would roll in and turn back the Putin tanks, No fly zone enforced (but let Ukraine fighters fly). The dead will have died for Ukraine Independence and to finish off Russia as a great power. A worthwhile sacrifice for a nation and the only way to stop Russia.
How about we just drop Linda Graham on Kiev!
Look for the Ukraine to use chemical weapons any day now and yell that the Russians did it. 🙄
A no-fly zone means our aircraft will be facing the very capable Russian S-400 air defense system. American air crews will die unless those air defenses are destroyed. If destroyed, Putin will then feel justified in attacking the NATO bases supporting the no-fly zone with ballistic & cruise missiles.
That is a major conflict between superpowers.
As the war ratchets up, Putin will start to lose badly. He will be sorely tempted to use tactical Nukes to try to frighten NATO into backing off. NATO will have no choice but to respond in kind. The ICBMs wont be long in coming after that.
That is then a nuclear conflict between 2 superpowers, which will decimate the US, Europe, & Russia. China then becomes the sole world superpower.
If you combine Putin’s megalomania with the stupidity of pols like Graham & Biden, the above is likely to happen.
With this national debt, which idiot wants to spend more in foreign wars? We are now more in debt than GDP. Why burden younger Americans with this stupidity of older generation?
