Six students from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point who were in Florida for spring break were hospitalized last week after after four ingested fentanyl-laced cocaine and two others tried to perform mouth-to-mouth resuscitation and were overcome by the drug’s effects.
The Daily Mail reported it received a statement from the academy:
“The U.S. Military Academy is aware of the situation involving West Point cadets, which occurred Thursday night in Wilton Manors, FL,” a West Point spokesperson said in an email. “The incident is currently under investigation and no other details are available at this time.”

Fort Lauderdale Fire Department Battalion Chief Steve Gollan told Local10 that two of the people who overdosed were sickened because they tried to perform CPR on the initial four overdose victims. He said the opioid-overdose-reversing drug naloxone, which is sold under the brand name Narcan, was administered to revive the victims.
“These are healthy young adults, college students in the prime of their life,” Gollan said. “Getting this drug into their system, it’s unknown what the recovery will be on the critical individual.”
Fox News reported that a woman at the scene was also hospitalized.
“After the incident, the Wilton Manors Police Department tweeted a warning to spring breakers about the dangers of illicit drugs,” Fox News said.
According the CDC, “Fentanyl is a synthetic opioid that is up to 50 times stronger than heroin and 100 times stronger than morphine.”
The CDC reports 150 people die every day in the United States from overdoses related to synthetic opioids like fentanyl.

I know obama made cocaine popular. I frankly wouldn’t want a bunch of people with zero self control leading any military members, so.. i feel bad for their parents. As a mother of a child who almost died during a drug fueled shooting, i can say.. the voices of evil are strongly leading them away.
I don’t think you can assume that a West Point cadet is “on the right” anymore. We evidently have a “woke” military now.
Or West Point has lowered it’s standards and is letting cokeheads in.

Standing armies have always been a potential threat to liberty. Defund the army. If the army cannot deign to control our border then what good is it? Let the USN protect us.

I would give the entire army budget to the US Navy. I would feel safer with a 1,000 ship fleet protecting us and absolutely no national standing army at all.

If the lefties only knew the truth about West Point and what the cadets are being taught they’d be perfectly OK with it. My good friend’s grand-daughter just graduated from WP, and the woke indoctrination of students makes our public school indoctrination pale by comparison.
What’s going on there would shock every Patriot, and many who aren’t Patriots but simply have some basic decency in their DNA.

It’s easy to condemn in this particular case, for sure.
But fentanyl needs to be seen as a poison. Every EMT carries NARCAN today, not because they plan to abuse drugs, but merely touching somebody exposed to fentanyl can overdose you. Soldiers going to war are now taking NARCAN. You can be exposed by touching a doorknob with trace fentanyl on it.
This is another consequence of Biden and the Rats leaving our SW border wide open. Along with the millions of illegal aliens coming across, enough Chinese-sourced fentanyl is coming over to kill every American ten times over.
Correct. These aren’t cadets of the past. They have to pass through leftist frameworks to even be admitted now.
