In 2014 Russia sent in some combat troops and took the Island as should be expected as I explained earlier. The Ukrainians have been granting Russia those leases and extending them for many years. There was no hint that wasn't going to extend into the indefinite future. Both countries being able to use the facility was a perfect, peaceful solution.
