On Friday’s broadcast of HBO’s “Real Time,” host Bill Maher criticized people who have attempted to make the Russian invasion of Ukraine about their pet issues and criticized those who have attempted to blame the invasion on former President Donald Trump by asking, “if Putin thought Trump was really that supportive of him, why didn’t he invade when Trump was in office?” And arguing that the question’s worth asking “if you’re not locked into one, intransigent thought.”

Maher is a comic and not a very good one. He should go back and concentrate on improving his art and leave politics to mature adults.

Trump saw no reason for Americans to die when we could send weapons and let other people die for their own countries; US blood would no longer be wasted on nation-building.

If you look at it in broad strokes, Trump domestic policy in better economic outcomes for all Americans regardless of ethnicity or gender is reflected in his push to get our Allies to do their part. Trump understood having more winners is better for everyone. Weakness, over-dependence and poverty does not translate into prosperity, freedom and independence.

He’s more libertarian or classic liberal than the far left that has seized power in the Democrat party

I caught a minute of his show the other day and he started off talking about how he thought the speakers at CPAC were all nuts and making fun of CPAC. I changed the channel.

Proof you can only keep so many lies going in your head all at the same time. After a while you are going to slip up and blurt out something that makes logical sense.
Maher buys a clue.
I assume he wants to have some credibility at this point; many of his peers have 0. He started months ago when publicly stating “COVID is over”; he enraged the ctrl-left but simply stated what most of us could clearly see. He seems to publicly oppose the radical agenda when it is very safe to do so (as in this case - a simple question anyone with eyes would ask).

His long history says otherwise, IMHO. Remember this is the same guy who said the Trump was REALLY Hitler. This is the same guy who said it was proven beyond a reasonable doubt that Trump DID collude with Hitler. Don’t know about you but I can’t just gloss over that.

Doesn’t Maher realize that facts and reason have no place in politics today? Embracing contradictory and mutually exclusive ideas is the new reality. Critical thinking is so yesterday!
