Alaska’s problem isn’t Joe Biden or leftist Democratic policies against drilling for oil and gas.

Alaska’s problem is that it is a massive welfare state that couldn’t exist without people like Joe Biden in Washington.

The governor of Alaska complains about restrictions on drilling, but the governor of Texas does not. That’s because more than 60% of Alaska’s land mass is Federal land, while less than 2% of Texas is.

Almost 32% of Texas general revenue comes from federal aid.

Texas is a welfare state, too.

I wonder what would happen if states just said F Biden and started drilling. Seems to me Biden couldn’t do a damn thing mainly because he’s to damn stupid.

I think the pipeline states should just go forth and build ans send oil. Time for the states to be more autonomous again.

That's the wrong way to look at it.

I'm almost certain that Texans pay more in Federal taxes than the U.S. government spends in the state. It's one of the lowest among the states when you rank them this way.

Alaska, on the other hand, is one of the worst "Takers" among all the U.S. states.

Texas is not a donor state.

I don’t think that Joe Biden, or his ventriloquists know about the history of energy. Fuel is not determined by government fiat, but by how much energy is contained in a given weight. Coal had more energy per ton than wood, while petroleum products like gasoline have more energy per ton than coal. Nuclear power is more potent than fossil fuels, but doesn’t provide the chemical feedstock s needed for synthetic materials.

Where in the Constitution does it say that the federal government can prevent a state from producing oil and gas and the various products derived from them?

I guess it depends on how you measure it. When the U.S. government spends trillions of dollars more than it collects in taxes, there are probably very few true “donor” states. And I can guarantee you that Texas is one of the lowest states on the most when you compare Federal spending vs. taxes paid.

It’s drilling on Federal land we’re talking about.

Do you think the governor of Alaska is going to go out with a DOT crew and do the drilling?

No, the drilling is done by private industry … and no company that is managed by people with an IQ over 70 is going to invest huge sums of money on drilling projects that are not permitted by the U.S. government.

Incredible to see gas at $6 all around CA.

President Joe Biden could lower prices at the pump for consumers if he would remove some of the barriers to oil and gas projects, Alaska Gov. Mike Dunleavy said.

He could, but he won't because that would tick off the environmental wackos and he'll never do that.

Alaska has not only oil and gas but also lots of lithium and rare earth metals. The problem is that the federal government won’t allow it to be drilled, fracked and mined.

Notice that: “ready by 2025-2026”. That’s if they start now.

That right there is a world-wide problem. There’s been a lack of investment and even if they start now they can’t crank up much production quickly.

The govt is going to make people do what it wants, period. And they want you on mass transit, in tiny apartments, and driving cars that cost more but you drive less.

The govt would sanction Alaska like Russia.

No more federal aid either.
