(Reuters) - The World Health Organization advised Ukraine to destroy high-threat pathogens housed in the country's public health laboratories to prevent "any potential spills" that would spread disease among the population, the agency told Reuters on Thursday.
Biosecurity experts say Russia's movement of troops into Ukraine and bombardment of its cities have raised the risk of an escape of disease-causing pathogens, should any of those facilities be damaged.
Like many other countries, Ukraine has public health laboratories researching how to mitigate the threats of dangerous diseases affecting both animals and humans including, most recently, COVID-19. Its labs have received support from the United States, the European Union and the WHO.

My guess is it was scripted with Nuland and Rubio trying to get ahead of the story and control the narrative.
The US bio research labs in Ukraine are the subject of a UN Security Counsel meeting today, so maybe more about them will be brought to light.
These DoD fund projects in foreign countries need to be shut down imo.
You do not need to destroy pathogens if you are only working on food safety and have E. Coli and Salmonella.
Neither are that dangerous from release.

Indeed, Reuters would not normally admit things like this.
We went from “There are no biolabs in the Ukraine” to “Those bio labs don’t have any real dangerous pathogens” to Victoria Nuland (State Dept) saying they are very concerned that the Russians will release those dangerous pathogens.
And now we have Reuters, of all people, reporting that the WHO warned Ukraine to destroy their dangerous pathogens. But we don’t know when WHO made this warning or even if it was followed. I expect we will find out soon.
