During WW2, the music of Richard Wagner was banned in many places simply because Adolph Hitler listened to it.
Who is that?
Yeah, yeah. Sergei, Gyorgei.
Hungarian, Polish.
Ukranian, Russian. Whatever.
As long as Burisma’s competition is eliminated and there’s 10% for “The Big Guy.”
They did try to tell Tchaikovsky ... They went to his grave and dug it up. Amazingly, they found him with a thick stack of sheet music and a pen, busily marking out notes, one after another.
They asked him. “What are you doing Pyotr? There’s a war happening, the orchestra in Cardiff won’t play your music, and here you are striking out lines of sheet music.”
He turned to them and said “Oh I’m just laying around de-composing”
.... I’ll show myself out now. :)
Gogol was Ukrainian. Bulgakov was Ukrainian (arguably). So was Prokofiev.
Sounds orchestrated.
“And no banning Dostoevsky,”
What idiot suggested that?
Born English, of a Polish father.
If the left thinks I’m not going to play the 1812 overture next Independence day, they’re going to be in for a surprise. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QUpuAvQQrC0
That’ll show Putin!!!
It’s not true. Look.
‘On 10 June 1859, the 19-year-old Tchaikovsky graduated as a titular counselor…”

No more Nutcrackers? Every ballet company will go under.
All these died long before the current situation. And the Russian government doesn't benefit financially from their works. What do they get, bragging rights?
Many of these Russia writers and composers were banned in their own country.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Russian salad dressing has been dropped by grocery chains.
Maybe the should ban ballet. And chess.
Clearly the "cancel" is hateful and anti-gay, n'est ce pas?
Is Seattle going to pull down their Lenin statue?
