Biden 'personally killed Polish jet deal' despite Republican AND Democrats ramping up calls to give Ukraine combat planes to make Putin 'fearful of what WE might do'
The Daily Mail ^ | 03/10/2022 | Morgan Phillips

Despite desperate please from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and pressure from lawmakers at home, President Biden killed the Polish plan to transfer MiG-29 jets to Ukraine, fearing the deal might be viewed as an escalation of tensions by Vladimir Putin.

The diplomatic blunder that began with a top European Union diplomat promising the jets to Ukraine ended when Poland suggested it would give the jets to the U.S. to deliver to Ukraine, and the U.S. said that was Poland's responsibility.

Then, U.S. defense officials killed the project entirely, saying they would not support either transferring the jets themselves or backing up Poland in doing so.

'We do not support the transfer of the fighters to the Ukrainian air force at this time and have no desire to see them in our custody either,' Press secretary John Kirby told reporters Wednesday, as he described the sentiment of a call between Defense Sec. Lloyd Austin and his Polish counterpart.

*** Ukraine currently has between 37 and 70 MiG-29s. *** 'POTUS will do what the military advises here and the advice now is not to do this and instead send the Ukrainian government more things they can make good use of,' a senior administration official told Politico. Ukraine has 'many planes they already don't fly much because of Russian air defense.' The official added that it's 'not clear what sending more planes achieves.'

However, both Republicans and Democrats called on the Biden administration to heed Zelensky's calls for more aircraft.

Sen. Mitt Romney, R-Utah, said it was time to make Putin 'fearful.'

'It's time for Putin to be fearful of what we might do. This is war. People are dying. We need to get aircraft to President Zelenskyy and the people of Ukraine immediately,' he wrote on Twitter. ***

Because IIRC as part of the NATO charter, sending those aircraft directly to a warring party outside of NATO without the consent of the rest of NATO means that if they are attacked the rest of NATO does *not* have to come help.

Or put another way - if Poland had provided aircraft to the Ukranians directly as Blinken had been saying he wanted them to and Russia struck back, Poland could not expect the rest of NATO to help them. They were understandably uninterested.

More specifically, do you really think our current administration would have gone to defend Poland if there were Russian reprisal strikes? Or would they have suddenly ‘discovered’ the clause and ‘regretfully’ told Poland they were on their own?

Proving that Republicans are almost as useless and anti-American as Dems.

How can anyone NOT be anti American with this administration installed by big tech, Big Pharma, the LGBTQ + Mafia and the Global Matriarchy?

Some people (pierrem15) - who I’ve never seen a single post from since I got here in 1997, just want to watch the World burn over what’s for all intents and purposes, a civil war.

I say let them all kill themselves. Whatever the state media is pushing, whether it’s fake vaccines, 2 am mail in voting, or Russiaman bad, I go in the exact opposite direction.

Been here 21 years, but I don't post that often.

Im old enough to remember when many of the same things you warn about were said about Reagan. Putin respects strength, as Trump showed. And I'm certain if the election had not been stolen this war would never have taken place. Besides Putin, it's entirely due to the loudmouthed poltroonery of the Dem cabal currently running the country.

That they are a more pressing enemy in many respects is true. But that doesn't mean Putin's actions aren't a real threat, and the weaker we appear by doing nothing the greater the chance this will get worse.

Blinken promised Ukraine "unconditional support." I thought that was a foolish thing to say, especially from a group known to be Obama-era retread cowards. But it was said. If I were Putin, I'd really be wondering if that Article V commitment really means anything. Maybe not now, but in a few months or even later.

Could have been but nobody wanted a USSR vs. USA world war. However the Germans sunk the RMS Lusitania for this exact reason.

Didn’t the Soviets supply the N. Vietnamese with MiGs? Was that considered an act of war?

No it wasn’t because of the same reason Biden won’t do anything to antagonize Putin. Vietnam had very little public support and certainly not enough public support to attack the Soviets for killing American troops via proxy. Everyone knows Biden was installed via massive, Covid voting fraud and a stolen election- his approval numbers with the public are greatly exaggerated at 36%.

Biden and his team of queer ass women and lying faggots won’t do jack shit over Ukraine.

The Bidenistas killed the deal because the Poles refused to play their assigned role as cat’s paw. The whole schtick was about getting the Ukrainians more jets without US fingerprints on the deal, but whoever ponied up the airplanes directly would immediately go on Putin’s target list.

Poland said eef that! You want us to supply the jets, fine! We’ll give them to you, and YOU can give them to Ukraine — providing you provide replacements with similar capabilities. We’re not going to be left holding the bag.

“The only reason this deal didn’t go through is the cowardice of the Dem operatives now in charge. That’s all.”

Fantasy.

NO POTUS, past or present, would have allowed such recklessness. And it’s the same logic employed by Romania and Poland for not supplying these planes directly.

So, I’ll say it again, you don’t know what you’re talking about.

"Putin is already is fully aware that any attack
on Poland or Romania would invoke article 5."

Maybe Putin would like to put Article 5 to the test?
I don't think Putin fears Biden, or Gen. Milley or
America. He's has seen the disorder and disunity in
America and thinks we are to obsessed with race, gender,
pronouns and sex to worry about the world outside our borders.
And he has seen that we have allowed ourselves
to be governed by a demented, criminal pervert
of a president who is in office only because of election
fraud.

Putin see America as sick and weak. And he's has
no compunction about kicking sand in our eyes.

That would surprise the Europeans because we asked for AWACS under Article V after 9/11.

So could they have said we were SOL because 9/11 was blowback for our involvement in the Middle East?

Russian forces are not operating in Russia. They didn’t seem to care when they sent aircraft and pilots to Korea and Vietnam. I don’t see why we can’t return the favor.

Based on all sorts of videos featuring Blinken, Polish officials, etc., that came out in real time, the Daily Mail’s story is hogwash. Biden’s Secretary of State blurted out the transfer idea, Poland said it was fake news, then Poland killed it by offering to give the planes to the US via Ramstein AFB in Germany, guaranteeing Germany would have a fit.

Biden might have said no to actually taking responsibility at that point, but it seems likely that the Intel Community and Defense Secretary actually asked what the heck Blinken was doing. Biden’s idiot SoS was the author of this farce — the Daily Mail is acting as the Administration’s cleaners.

Last I looked Blinken hadn’t been fired. After the DoD Spokesman humiliated Blinken by pointing out the obvious, Blinken should go away and hide.

I remember all the mud slinging at Reagan, that pushing the Strategic Defense Initiative would provoke the Russians into launching nukes. (Kinda like saying “if we provide direct support like jets to Ukraine then Putin will nuke us”)
But that never happened.

In fact, remember when Reagan backed down and capitulated to the Russians? Oh that’s right, he didn’t. He dropped his enormous nutz on the table and brought down the Red Giant.
