The Florida state Senate on Tuesday passed a parents rights bill, a media-maligned piece of legislation that will prohibit primary school teachers from talking about sexual orientation with children in pre-K through third grade.
Senate passage of the Parental Rights in Education bill by a vote of 21-17 marks a milestone in parents’ efforts across the nation to fight back against the radical left in the classroom. The legislation also represents a model for other states to use as they push back the woke tides.
The Florida House of Representatives passed the legislation last month, 69-47. It now goes to Gov. Ron DeSantis for his signature.
Opposition to the Parental Rights in Education bill has been fierce, with many on the left attempting to reframe the law as the “Don’t Say Gay” bill. The left has attempted for years to indoctrinate children with LGBT ideology in public schools, and now activists are furious at attempts by conservatives to push back.
To be clear, the Florida legislation is not an “anti-gay” bill. It is instead a bill aimed at protecting children—and preventing educators with an agenda from infecting young kids with radical ideology.
DeSantis, a Republican, has expressed as much. In an exchange with a local reporter during a Monday press conference, the governor reiterated that the legislation was about protecting kids and that the corporate media was lying about what it would do.

Gotta hope some of the crazy, far left teachers flout this law, so they can be taken to court, convicted, fined and sacked.
Ignore them. Ignore them to the point where they start throwing such incredible temper tantrums that they become completely spastic with lies and emotion. Rather easy when you think about it.
This is good but i think the legislature needs to pass a requirement that only reedin, ritin and rithmetic be tawt in skools up thru college of state funded skools. no history as that curriculum is BS. if you can reeed you can figure out history. that will end this crap.

Why would we have a religion pausing as a secular choice going to schools? Can we have discussions in schools about Christianity as a choice? Apparently not because of separation clause.
What is even more eggregious is that the modern day version of the cult actually cultivates Peter Pan type schizophrenia promoting an ever state of refusal to grow up and mocking adulthood. The term gay does not equate homosexual as in Greek adult homosexual conscientious of the greek ethos, actual culture and manners he served, because the Greek homosexual served instead of being served like a baby.
The rinos are gelded but also communists somewhere. There is a difference between a right and a priviledge , and these people are spinning a right into a duty for others to privilege them in being served like baby brats.
Democrats are thieves in creepy child like cosplay like game play. All the bill really does is stop queer indoctrination at school until 4th grade. The Left is freaking out over even that modest step. Our Values at work. Democracy in action: grooming little children. At least DeSantis is willing to impose some limits. Other governors, take note.
“I don’t care what it is they’re a doin’so long as they ain’t a doin’it in muh face” isn’t going to cut it. That has gotten us this far Through the Looking-Glass.

That’s a very good phrase. I hope DeSantis uses it on the Disney people. I don’t think he’s going to get the single mother or school teacher vote anyway.
The last time I actually read the text of the bill (earlier in the process and I have not seen the final form), it was limited to K-3 and any discussions on gender or sexual orientation had to be age appropriate. You could say “gay” along the lines of “a boy may be gay if he likes another boy.” However, the detailed discussion of anal sex would not be appropriate. Right now, the media has been lock-step in calling it the “don’t say gay” bill so the polling numbers are 57% opposed. If the polling question was asked “should K-3 children hear in school about gender and sexual orientation issues in only an age-appropriate manner?” the polling numbers would be 70% or more in favor.
