Nearly half of single women in the U.S.—a larger percentage than single men or married couples—supported or were actively involved in racial justice protests in 2020, according to a gender-based giving study released Tuesday, coinciding with the International Women’s Day.
Around 48.2% of single women surveyed supported racial justice causes, such as Black Lives Matter, Say Her Name, and others, compared to 40.9% for single men, and 40.3% for married/partnered couples, according to the report titled Women Give 2022: Racial Justice, Gender and Generosity by the Women’s Philanthropy Institute (WPI) at the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy of Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis.
Overall, a much smaller portion of the population (14.2%) actually donated money in support of racial justice.
Compared to single men or couples, single women were also more likely to give to racial justice organizations or grassroots organizations, and to take action by donating to political candidates who supported their views on racial equity issues, according to the report.
“Despite being disproportionately impacted by the global pandemic, women of all backgrounds have contributed to racial justice movements in countless ways, from participating in marches, to financial support, to contacting elected officials to demand police accountability,” Una Osili, associate dean for research and international programs at the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy, said in the report.
Funded by grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, WPI releases a series of Women Give reports each year, exploring various factors that shape gender-based giving patterns. This attitude survey was conducted online among a general population sample of 2,073 households in May 2021.
The report also looked at how different racial identity groups gave differently to social justice causes. It found that Black households were significantly more likely to indicate support for the 2020 racial justice protests (69.7%)

Ann Coulter has long said she’d be glad give up her right to vote if the 19th amendment could ever be repealed. “If we took away women’s right to vote, we’d never have to worry about another Democrat president. It’s kind of a pipe dream, it’s a personal fantasy of mine... Women see the government as their husbands.”
Emotion driven. When dealing with women under 50 at least you are essentially dealing with a child.
“I think of a man, and then I take away reason and accountability.”
Based on my knowledge of liberal giving, I highly doubt this.
Exactly.
Frankly, its a much better outlet than being on-line and worshipping post-modern and political gods.
And I bet you aren’t even Catholic.
The single greatest threat to the life and liberty of a free nation is any single, liberal white female.
My handsome 28-year old nephew has a great job, owns a home, but has largely given up on finding a non-insane girlfriend. One of his first questions is if she went to college … an instant disqualifier.
Every time I check out at the grocery store, it wants me to “round up” for whatever cause du jour.
Last night, I was supposed to give them 27 extra cents to “heal the earth”.
What does that even mean?
[the upside was that the guy who checked out before me ignored a coupon the printer spat out, that gave me 1.50 off my purchase, thanks to DiGornio]
Young women have always sought ways to boost their self esteem and make them feel connected to things larger than themselves. That used to be religion or charity or having children, etc. Since they don’t have any of those things in these wicked times, they look for alternatives.
I’m all in favor of racial justice. Everyone of every race should be judged according to his BEHAVIOR and rewarded or punished on that basis.
Because young women see jumping on bandwagons like BLM to be cool, hip, and self-righteous. They think by showing support for them some man somewhere will think what they are doing is just fabulous and will want to be with them. I’ve known the type...
Nearly Half of Single Women in the U.S. Give to Racial Justice Causes Because They Have bvFrontolTemporal Dementia, Typified by Willingness to Believe Scammers and Give Them Money.
If so, I don't understand their logic. Do women think that donating to BLM makes them sexier?
I suppose some Soy Boy's will pretend to admire a woman for donating to BLM. But women aren't generally attracted to Soy Boys.
Women change when they are married and have children. They realize their are more important things, more rewarding things than some “cause’ or another. At least that’s what I have found.
“I’m really glad that I am not young and searching for a wife. I would just see that as a lost cause.”
My fourteen year old grandson just says “Ugh.”
Might explain why they are single.
Single women are giving something else in the name of “social justice.” Miscegenation is real and changing this country.
