Elon Musk bucks the regime with his stance on domestic energy: The Billionaire has a surprisingly reasonable understanding of energy markets and the shortcomings of green technologies

As oil prices climb ever higher, Tesla CEO Elon Musk tweeted that he thought the United States should increase oil and gas production, displaying his surprisingly reasonable understanding of energy markets and the shortcomings of green technologies like wind and solar.

Based on his popularity online and his reputation alone, Musk voicing this opinion is pretty significant. When you then remember he is the head of the largest electric vehicle manufacturer in the world, it becomes that much more intriguing.

“Hate to say it, but we need to increase oil and gas output immediately. Extraordinary times demand extraordinary measures,” Musk tweeted. “Obviously, this would negatively affect Tesla, but sustainable energy solutions simply cannot react instantaneously to make up for Russian oil and gas exports.”

Musk is right! Renewables can’t reduce energy prices quickly. By contrast, the fossil-fuel industry is able to more quickly react to shortages in supply -- it always has.

So why hasn’t the industry acted to moderate prices? Politics. Since taking office, Joe Biden has erected numerous hurdles to oil and gas production. Despite what the White House implies, oil futures are based on the expected impact of policy and world events on the supply of oil, not the immediate supply, and as one of the world’s top producers, the United States has a very large influence.

Even the left-leaning International Energy Agency (IEA) has recommended European nations immediately restart their coal-fired power plants as part of a 10-Point-Plan for the European Union to end their dependence on Russian energy.

Green energy is about saving the planet the same way CoupFlu policy is about public health.

RE: Do his production plants run on wind and solar ?

Musk himself will be the first to say ‘NO’.

He isn’t stupid, or a green zealot, just a business opportunist who knows how to get rich by using government money.

Mister Musk paid a record breaking ELEVEN BILLION DOLLARS in taxes last year, highest by far in 7S history.
How much in taxes have you ever paid in your life?
You leftists crack me up.

The Democrats have always been an absolutist, one-size-fits-all party. Because they think in terms of the collective (ring any bells?) rather than the individual, top down instead of bottom up, their every solution is for everyone to do it their way. A reasonable, common-sensical person, looking at the situation we have today in transportation and energy production/storage, would think similarly to Musk. Diversification of these areas to meet different and differing realities is obviously the best way forward, and provides the most flexibility and adaptability to meet future challenges.

In other words, Musk and people like him are problem solvers for the people of the nation. The Dems are problem creators, because they always need a new problem to foist upon the people of the nation and so gain further control. The bottom line for the Dems is always that: more control, more power.

Except they are not.
Tesla sold nearly a million EVs last year, by far the highest on the planet. And Tesla has a market cap of over $800 Billion, far higher than any other car company.
Next?

No. and personally I don’t even think he believes in EV’s. I believe he saw an opportunity to receive massive subsidies in a market so mediocre it was not hard to deliver a superior product. The real product is the stock price that he can use to offset other projects that he actually believes in, such as spacex.

RE: My opinion of EM’s immigration to the Austin Area is gaining stature.

From one liberal city in California to arguably Texas’ most liberal city... the main difference being state taxes.

He still loves liberal cities.

Nope.
I got the point.
You keep posting the same nonsense on as many Musk/Tesla threads as you can.
If anything, Musk is paying too much in taxes.
Good news is Musk has the money and the extremely tough lawyers to take on Dementia Joe and his thugs.
