Lets kill one more industry.
Hate to break it to you, but I can charge my vehicle with my
own solar system.
That’s nice. Do you haul it with you for the long trips?
It handles 100% of the travel I have to do locally.
I have an ICE car for long trips. Sure wouldn’t want to
take one right now.
I can travel 3.33 times as far for the same value, electricity
vs gas right now.
If there is a gas shortage similar to the 1970s, I wanted a
way to continue to function.
I picked up a used electric car.
“Sleeping with the enemy” is too kind for you, pompous a&&.
So what I should do is sit at home and forget about doing my
business if gas shortages occur? Is that your estimation of
what a good citizen would do? Just make sure no businesses
can survive at all, because no one can travel to their
location? Does that help the nation?
I have to be a leftist to want to travel to church, the
super market, get a hair cut, do other shopping, visit
family members or an ill friend?
Maybe I should be placed in an interment camp, right?
I’m not your enemy just because I thought ahead last
November.
Tell you another way to charge it.
Put a lightning rod on it.
That’ll charge it really fast. In less than a blink of an eye.

It would be cool if that kind of natural energy could be tapped
by a massive capacitor bank.

Look, I don’t have to apologize for reading the tea leaves and
trying to find a way through the wilderness. I didn’t vote
for Biden, and I’m not exactly supporting the industry by
purchasing a used car that will see me through some tough
times.
I don’t like what is going on any more than the next guy. I
think Biden has all but signed the death warrant for a lot of
people, if what I think is headed our way is.
I’m building myself a little trailer to pull behind my car,
and in that I will have solar cells to recharge on as I
travel.
I live in a major metropolis, and I am not very comfortable
with what comes next.
In the 70-80s, there was a boom in a number of the old oil fields that kick started when deep exploratory wells hit huge natural gas deposits. Anadarko/Lindsey and Elk City come to mind. Similarly deep wells in the old Healdton/Ardmore fields found enough oil + natural gas to resurrect their production activity.
I don’t know what if anything happened to bring the Glen Pool or Seminole fields back to life. The OKC field had a bit of a fracking boom - Drilling wells in the east side of town in the 2000s.
Good move on your part.
I’m against green deal socialism but not products consumers may want to purchase. I’m non ideological about products I’ve never used and have no knowledge of.(like EV’s)
If people want electric vehicles, solar panels, electric mowers, electric saws, etc. “I’m all for it.”
I’m a “free to choose” guy.
I should add, I noted that there were more brown-outs in
recent years. They sure aren’t building new power plants,
and they are doing away with hydro, natural gas, and other
energy plants.
They are doing this on purpose. They want chaos, death, and
destruction. That’s all I can figure out.
Back in 2020 I started buying electric generators and solar
panels. I now have a 6.5 kilowatt system, that can handle
all my needs.
I don’t think that is any different than what any other
prepper is doing out there. I have food and water devices.
I have heaters, coolers, and a car I can charge up over a
few days if I need to. I have solar cookers. I can take
water out of the air if I need to, and I have filtration
systems.
I chose electric, because it was something I could do myself
and not have to create some sort of combustible fuel.
I tested ways of taking a shower economically. It’s no
problem at all, to take a full shower with 1.25 gallons of
water.
I’m still studying ways to grow plants. You can come up
with a pretty good system if you try. I will be looking
into drying things, canning, and other methods of keeping
a source of food on hand.
