Didn’t ask you to, and you shouldn’t.
My last comment spells it out succinctly.
And agreed on everything but ‘Biden’ (he’s just the useful idiot who was NOT lawfully elected).
You are astute and thinking ahead…. Not a fan of electric vehicles, but your charging via solar is interesting.
He claimed that we could simply tap into the air for electric power as his theory was that it was all around us.
And he was right. Except the machinery to harvest it needed to be invented.
“I will be looking
into drying things,”
An old freezer.
Kudos, but I hope your nearest liberal neighbor is miles away.
Better than my prior, vague mea culpa, apologies for being so sensitive.
I’m surrounded by idiots in my area and they’re coming out of the woodwork here at FR.
There’s good reason not to support anything Biden does.....after all it took four Presidents, thousands of lives, trillions of dollars, and 20 yrs. ‘to replace the Taliban with the Taliban’ in Afganistan......and Biden was front and center involved with those decisions.
I agree with your thoughts on the green deal socialism. I am
not a believer in man made global warming. Lemmings are
falling for it. It’s nonsense > IMO. Weather is cyclical.
We will have global cooling at some point.
EV’s are easy to understand. I started studying what was
going on, and I found a little 2018 BMW i3s Rex. It takes
me about 120 miles per charge. At the time I bought it,
they were selling for $32.5. I found one that had every
item I wanted on it, for $27.5.
It fit into my overall project. I went for it. It is the
most fun vehicle I’ve ever owned. I’ve had some decent
cars over the years, so it’s not compared to a number of
beaters out there.
As long as people aren’t buying in to save the planet, I
agree. What difference does it make? Sure Biden is gaming
the system, but he was going to do that anyway. Why fight
the idiot.
People oppose these vehicles on an ideological basis. They
shouldn’t. Electric is no more vile than ICE.
If you don’t like it, don’t buy it. I don’t urge anyone to
do what I have unless it makes sense to them.
I made an additional response just above this. You may find
it interesting.
Thanks. We agree on far more than we disagree.
Biden isn’t even functioning on his own. I’d like to know
how many life skills he can’t do on his own these days.
Thanks Doughty,
You packed some good information it those two posts, its appreciated.(You got me thinking about a couple of things)
I like your style......a lot.
Take care.
“Can’t wait for 55mph and alternate days to fuel up.”
I forgot about those times... was that before or during the Carter years?
During Carter!!
Thanks unclebankster...
Appreciate it.
You take care also.
Replacing a battery pack in a Tesla costs $20,000.
The price of nickel was up 250% this morning and they suspended trading.
IF my memory is right....Dexter, KS was the first place Helium was discovered. Not too far from where I live..
Unless your electricity comes from a nuclear plant or hydro, be prepared for your electricity bill to skyrocket.
That adds up to billions of dollars that Russia won’t have to put towards its military. I’m okay with that.
What I’ not okay with is this stupid push for renewables being introduced on a huge scale to an infrastructure that isn’t prepared for it over cheap, reliable fossil fuels that when tapped, make us energy independent. If we tapped what was being pumped during Trump’s term and then some, we could export to Europe on a larger scale to reduce their dependence on Russian product. We DID warn them, after all.
Keystone would be the cherry on the sundae. The only way this will happen is a hypermajority of Republicans (real ones) being put into office this election, or a majority of Republicans and either Trump or a Trumpian Republican in the White House.
Ha. Trump has an adjective, now. I’m sure that upsets Merriam-Webster’s.
If we wind up with a large enough majority to override Biden’s vetoes, we have a chance of turning the tide.
At home I would use solar. It’s not an easy process, but I
get the job done.
I also use Electrify America.
I picked up 85 miles at $5.85.
I converted the miles to what I would get if I spent $5.39.
That way I could compare the distance I’d go on $5.39 of
gas, and $5.39 of electricity.
It turned out on that study I was able to travel 3.33 times
the distance on the electricity I would on that amount of gas.
I believe you are right about the electric rate if I charged
on the home socket. They really zing homeowners for power.*
At least that’s my take on it. I looked at my bill at home
and the rate per kilowatt was pretty high.
For me, 1979, right when I got my first car. ‘69 Camaro.
