On Tuesday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “Jose Diaz-Balart Reports,” Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Sen. Robert Menendez (D-NJ) reacted to the Biden administration reportedly looking to increase oil imports from Venezuela by stating that there is no need to go to the Maduro regime in Venezuela that President Biden declared a national security threat five days ago for more oil when there are other nations the U.S. can get oil from and domestic production that is already licensed.

Cutting off Russian oil only makes sense if you are increasing our production or at least have a source from someone who doesn’t want to kill us. We can be more energy independent — and we were under President Donald Trump.
Now we see how vital that independence is. We never should have increased the reliance on Russia, to begin with — which happened under Biden. But if you cut it off and then go buy from Iran, who wishes us dead, or prop up the government of Venezuela, what kind of sense does that make?
But the Biden team is indeed considering getting oil from places like Venezuela and Iran — just not doing anything at all to increase our production.
Biden has no idea what he said five days ago.
Venezuela’s oil is a heavy sour crude.
There’s only a couple of places that can handle refining it.
The diaper-wrapped, pig-faced buffoon has no idea the BS he’s got this country into.
“Biden has no idea what he said five days ago.”
So true, unless someone reminds him
This is what happens with a demented dumbass in the White House.
I bet that he does. Or his handlers do.
YOU pay for his gasoline.
BranDUHn has no idea that he dropped an explosive deuce in his Huggies two hours ago...
Is there anyone out there who will admit they VOTED for this moron ??
Is Biden actually a foreign asset?
WTF is going on?
Forgive my ignorance. Can someone please explain the Regime’s talking point about oil companies not using existing leases to drill for oil?
Biden wants gasoline prices to go as high as possible. He sees this as an opportunity to push people into electric cars. They want to mandate how you live.
“He sees this as an opportunity to push people into electric cars.”
More like sneakers and bikes. I cannot afford a new car, much less an electric car.
My utility bill has risen $200 since December. Yeah, charge a car too?
“Biden wants gasoline prices to go as high as possible. He sees this as an opportunity to push people into electric cars.”
He and the Dems see it as a way to justify mail-in voting: So many people won’t be able to afford driving to their polling places.
I’d rather hand over Government to my great-grandson’s kindergarten class than to have this lot in control.
I pray we survive to the mid-terms, never mind 2024.
“Can someone please explain the Regime’s talking point about oil companies not using existing leases to drill for oil?”
They trot this lie out every time this happens. A lot of them are dry holes or there’s no road access to them and whatever bureaucratic entity can block a road will block a road.
The Senator is probably unaware that a “new study” reveals that Maduro is really a good guy.
