Leftists don't like to be reminded that Mussolini was originally the editor of Avanti!, the leading Socialist newspaper in the country - one might accurately say he was himself the leading Socialist in the country before and during World War I. And as for "leaving a profound mark on history," one must concede he certainly did that.
