The authorities of the Republic of Poland, after consultations between the President and the Goverment, are ready to deploy – immediately and free of charge – all their MIG-29 jets to the Ramstein Air Base and place them at the disposal of the Government of the United States of America.
At the same time, Poland requests the United States to provide us with used aircraft with corresponding operational capabilities. Poland is ready to immediately establish the conditions of purchase of the planes.
The Polish Government also requests other NATO Allies – owners of MIG-29 jets – to act in the same vein.
I hope this report is in error but if not then this is now more dangerous than the Cuban Missile Crisis...partly because of Russia’s vastly improved weapons and targeting.
IMO it is now very likely we will see the use of nuclear weapons.
I believe Putin would fire a warning shot first to try and sober his enemies up, in hopes they might back off...

I think this NATO-MiGs-for-Ukraine idea was cooked up in Washington as a way for the neo-cons and libtards to keep the war going while ostensibly not getting the USA directly involved.
I think Poland is being clever here. They are obviously under a lot of pressure from Biden’s handlers to cough up the jets — but a direct handover from Warsaw to Kyiv would put them in Moscow’s crosshairs.
This way, Poland gives the jets to the USA, and if the USA gives them to Ukraine, well, that’s their business. In other words, Poland is not willing to stick its neck out alone.

Problem is, your statement sounds exactly like hundreds I read a few weeks ago claiming “Putin is just Saber Rattling, there’s no way they’ll invade”. We now know how that turned out.
The other problem is, nobody knows Putin’s ultimate goal(s) or motives. Say he has terminal cancer and has decided that he wants to go out in a blaze of glory and take everyone with him to the afterlife. I’m not saying that’s the case, but what I am saying is, there are a lot of unknowns here and to bluntly state no one will use strategic nukes is an opinion I’ll kindly ignore due to Putin’s record over several decades.
You may think he’s bluffing. I do not, and I’m not prepared to risk life on Earth at this point by ignoring what he’s already told us he’s prepared to do.

Yeah, I’d like to see it that way but I think Putin won’t believe NATO or Biden would actually deliver them.
My hope is that the old Mig-29 is not a big threat to his forces. So Biden can have a PR success in the media while being ineffectual.
Anyway, the Big Picture IMHO is that Russia wants to annex the East of Ukraine and just ‘defang’ the Western part. This might not affect that plan.

No, even if we went toe to tie with the Ruskies there is no gain from shooting either a tactical or strategic nuclear weapon(s) FIRST. Only death is gained. If nuclear weapons worked then Kiev would already be ceramic and Putin's war would be over. Just like Saigin would have been ceramic in 1970. Why didn't Nixon drop the big one? Same reason.

Every war game from 1950 onward showed that direct conflict between US and Soviet flagged forces resulted in strategic exchange.
I am not privy to any since 1990 or so, but I’m pretty sure it shows the same with Russia.

Not just oil/gas, there is great farmland in “areas East of the Dnieper River” that Russia could gain.
So far, it looks to me like Russia could effect a line from Kharkiv to the Dneiper to Crimea. Gaining all that and encircling the Ukraine army in the East- demanding whatever they want for that army’s life.

Take Putin at face value. He already stated what he was prepared to do. His record over decades is much more telling to my opinion than your belief.
