A Russian war ship was struck by Ukrainian forces as they continued to defend the port of Odessa from invading troops, according to Ukraine's navy.
Video footage appeared to show Ukrainian defence forces, based in Odessa, cheering as they exchanged fire with ships in the Black Sea in the early hours of the morning.
One Russian ship - said to be the patrol vessel Vasily Byko - is thought to have been hit as Ukrainian forces defended the country's largest port, Ukraine's navy said on Monday.

Big winner in all this is China. Putin weakens and likely gone within a year.
Biden is falling apart physically and will be gone within a year. President Harris.
China’s influence expands from all this.
I already saw this movie...in a galaxy far, far away.
Good insightful analysis.
Good news. Some of my J ancestors are from Odessa. The Jewish division there
It’s a beautiful city. Virtually every stone has some sort of historical import.
If the roles were reversed, and the Democrats were in the same position the Republicans are in now, what would they do? You can bet they'd have some scheme up their slimy little sleeves, and wouldn't be afraid to go with it.
Same source as the Snake Island story where 13 Ukrainians told the Russian ship to “F-off”?
No this is a patrol ship which is basically a gun boat which does not have the striking power of a surface combatant. I would not get all that excited about this.
My theory:
1. I trust gas station sushi more than American media.
2. For many years in modern warfare we have seen the importance of controlling the media narrative. The media narrative is what makes the “good guys” and the “bad guys”. We saw this in Vietnam when we lost the war of public support and withdrew the world’s strongest military from rice paddies in Vietnam because at home we had lost the will to fight.
3. The middle east is a great example of this. Groups like Hamas and Hizbollah hide clandestine weapons programs and terrorist training camps in areas that would produce bad optics if attacked (ie schools, mosques, hospitals).
4. There is a demonstrable connection of corruption between the Biden administration and the Ukraine. Remember that thing with Hunter Biden’s laptop right before the election that the media buried?
5. If you were involved in a clandestine program of some sort and were looking for a place to hide it where other people would be unwilling to attack, how about inside of a nuclear facility that could destroy all live in Europe if the core were to be hit?
6. Would you maybe bring mobile crematoriums not to hide the amount of casualities that the “war” was producing, but to dispose of bodies that had perhaps been contamined by an attack on a biolab?
I feel like a citizen of the Soviet Union in the 1980s that’s trying to figure out what’s going on in the world based on what the talking head on the television ISN’T saying.
300’, 1700 tons. Pretty serious for the Black Sea. Not a “gun boat”, which makes me think maybe mounts some Ma Deuces or 12.7s.

*President Harris.*
The only solution would be for SCOTUS pick (Jackson) to fall and Harris moves over there. A ‘consensus’ VP could then be selected while anticipating the inevitable wit the POTUS. Then Harris would have to go along.
Who would it be? That Dr. Seuess senator from Va. is about it.
Our nation’s security may call for it with looming war present. Like the LGBTQ crowd doesn’t care about the nations’ safety?
I really thought the “retire Breyer, Kamala to SCOTUS, Booty-Gig to VP” was a real strategy.
But it looks to me like Ketanji will sail through.
Many thanks for your Commentary! I might get to Odessa in Ukraine one day to see. But not likely/ You have seen it for me.
They'd be working with Putin and Russia to bring down the Republican president with the promise of a sweetheart deal if successful. Like Ted Kennedy going to Paris in the 1980s to talk with the Russians, though that was not successful.
All good points. See Tagline included with every post.
I was born there.
Exactly - the "news" media have less credibility than late-nite infomercials...
RE: “1. I trust gas station sushi more than American media.”
Oh so true.
However this is the Daily Mail, which is one of the more reliable news outlets.
However, some of their war coverage is pretty slanted and needs to be taken with at least one grain of salt.
So I guess you are right.
Do not trust anything you read or hear and only about a quarter of what you see.
I think China will own Russia within 6 months. The poor Russian people will be communist once again.
