The Kremlin has announced its demands for ending the war in Ukraine:
-Ukraine must change its constitution to guarantee it won't join any "blocs", i.e. NATO + EU.
-Must recognise Crimea as part of Russia.
-Must recognise the eastern separatist regions as independent.— Patrick Reevell (@Reevellp) March 7, 2022
“Not much has changed”
True, from what I’ve read, non-msm and non-Faux-news.
But I’m also understanding that the Uke’s are Biden/EU puppets, and Biden/EU want an Afghanistan-like morass for Russia. Plus the US “Stand with Ukraine” PR slaves are legion. Predicting no deal.
prayers for ukranians
if true,it’s not unreasonable
I’m not for any of this. I’m just commenting on what I see and read, here and elsewhere. I’m certainly NO expert on any of this. I see by your screen name you spent a lot of years in the Army, I’m sure you have MUCH more knowledge of these things than I do. I’m just a retired machinist and news junkie saying what I think about things, and I hope I’m wrong about a lot of it.
THANK YOU for your service!
Nuts!
Can’t be. This was a genius move. He’s very smart. At least thats what someone said.
First, we obviously don’t have their nukes. Russia does.
***Russia left a bunch of nukes behind in that country. What stops US from doing the same thing, with the pretense that the nukes were there all along?
Second, there was never an agreement for us to defend Ukraine militarily,
***Niggling bullshiite. There is nothing in the agreement that says Ukraine is not allowed to drop a couple of nukes on Russian territory if they invade Ukraine, so that’s what I expect YOUR appeasement to lead to. And even then, I doubt folks holding your position will change their perspective on it, they’ll just hide under some rock.
so we could not have broken it. The Agreement amounted to each of the signatories promising that it would respect Ukraine’s borders. The U.S. and U.K. honored their obligations under the Agreement. It is Russia that did not.
***Then there is nothing stopping us from calling out that agreement, fighting Russians to their border, leaving behind a few nukes for the Ukes to play with, and asking the world to honor Uke neutrality when we leave. Other than the lack of will, encouraged by Putinists like yourself. Heck, we probably could do it with a few F35s, a few hundred Javelins, a bunch of stingers, and very few American dead just to satisfy the pantywaist appeasing Putinist pukes.
That!
Just do what Putin would do.
Agree to everything, knowing it’s all a lie.
“Zelinsky should counter with, you can have my answer now, Mr Putin. We’ll keep all of Ukraine, including Crimea, and we will be joining the EU and NATO and any other bloc we wish. You can keep your puppet. Oh, and you will pay our membership fees.”
Sounds like as great start.
UKRAINE:
1. Ukraine could join the EU while affirming that it won’t join NATO.
2. Ukraine can recognize Crimea as an independent country that can have the associations it wants to with Russia and Ukraine.
3. The separatist regions can be a matter for negotiation after the invasion is over.
4. Ukraine should officially oppose all financial and other sanctions that were imposed on Russia because of the invasion.
RUSSIA:
1. Russia needs to withdraw all forces from Ukraine.
2. Russia needs to recognize Ukraine’s sovereignty in perpetuity.
3. Russia needs to sign a treaty affirming that specific destructive weaponry will not be in Crimea or in the separatist regions.
4. Russia needs to pay Ukraine for the damage done by the invasion.
Before that happens the state will split having one state be LA to SF ans the rest of the state California.
Wow -- I thought you were originally just making a rhetorical point focusing on how Russia unilaterally breached the Budapest Memorandum. But apparently, you are actually arguing seriously that we should hand the Ukrainians some of our active nukes so they can use them against Russia. I'm not really a fan of anyone handing out nukes to Ukraine or anyone else at this point, so I'm glad you're not the one setting policy.
Other than the lack of will, encouraged by Putinists like yourself. Heck, we probably could do it with a few F35s, a few hundred Javelins, a bunch of stingers, and very few American dead just to satisfy the pantywaist appeasing Putinist pukes.
Hahaha! I'm not sure what you think you've been reading, but that's the first time in the last couple weeks that I've been called an apologist for Putin. I have gotten called out for being a dupe of the "Deep State" for supporting Ukraine and Zalensky, though.
I'm absolutely in favor of selling/giving whatever conventional weapons we can to Ukraine. Including obtaining and then transferring MiG's to Ukraine. I'm also in favor of imposing the absolute hardest, most crippling sanctions possible on Russia. But if I'm nevertheless a "Putin apologist" because I don't want to hand nuclear weapons to the Ukrainians to use against Russia...then I guess I'm guilty as charged.
Russia has no right to demand anything. The only action it has the right to do is stop the attack, pay retributions to the survivors, pay trillions to rebuild Ukraine, eliminate its nuclear weapons, and for Putin to be kicked out of office.
Pretty much what I expected. The Ukraine was supposed to be a neutral territory between Russia and the EU countries.

Two persons close to the Russia-Ukraine negotiations (including back channel talks) tell me Russia proposed (1) Zelensky remains pro forma president but Russia appoints Boiko as PM, (2) Ukraine recognizes L/DNR and Crimea, (3) No NATO. Ze told them emphatically no.

Wow — I thought you were originally just making a rhetorical point focusing on how Russia unilaterally breached the Budapest Memorandum.
***They DID. But niggling pukes are claiming it was nonbinding anyways. Well, if it were nonbinding then it were nonbinding, and the Ukes can pursue Nukes.
https://freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/4044173/posts
They’re not all that interested in quickly joining NATO, having dragged their feet for 2 decades on it, so let them have their aggressive neutrality they want.
But apparently, you are actually arguing seriously that we should hand the Ukrainians some of our active nukes so they can use them against Russia.
***You are actually arguing seriously that we sell them down the river. They have been invaded. They’re in an existential war.
I’m not really a fan of anyone handing out nukes to Ukraine or anyone else at this point, so I’m glad you’re not the one setting policy.
***Hey, we were all fans of nuclear de-proliferation and the Ukes went along with it, handing over enough nukes to kill hundreds of millions of souls. But now you want to niggle on some fine print in that very same agreement, after they have been invaded by the very country named in that agreement. So we push the reset button where hundreds of millions of lives are at stake and then niggling pukes can all of a sudden be fans of sovereignty and borders of a signatory nation, just like they were in 1994.
Hahaha! I’m not sure what you think you’ve been reading,
***I’ve been reading some niggling about the agreement we signed. That niggling was written by YOU.
but that’s the first time in the last couple weeks that I’ve been called an apologist for Putin.
***Then let me do it again. You are a Putin apologist for niggling on the very same agreement that relinquished the nukes. If that agreement is nonbinding then it is simply nonbinding and you give a pathway to nuke war just by being a pantywaist.
I have gotten called out for being a dupe of the “Deep State” for supporting Ukraine and Zalensky, though.
***In our exchanges you have not supported Ukraine. You have supported the niggling away of their sovereignty AFTER they honored the agreement and gave back nukes.
I’m absolutely in favor of selling/giving whatever conventional weapons we can to Ukraine.
***Apparently we haven’t given enough conventional weapons to deter an invasion, but they gave away Nukes, didn’t they?
Including obtaining and then transferring MiG’s to Ukraine.
***Not really gonna be enough.
I’m also in favor of imposing the absolute hardest, most crippling sanctions possible on Russia.
***Putin wasn’t deterred by those sanctions. Quit pretending they work. Even Biden’s press secretary said they had no hope sanctions would work, so why do you? You’re more Bidenista than Biden.
But if I’m nevertheless a “Putin apologist” because I don’t want to hand nuclear weapons to the Ukrainians to use against Russia...then I guess I’m guilty as charged.
***You wanna do all the stuff that doesn’t work and none of the stuff that does work for “Respecting Ukrainian independence and sovereignty in the existing borders and
refraining from the threat or the use of force against Ukraine.” So yeah, that makes you a PUtin apologist.
They could always agree, and once the Russians are out, half a million NATO troops could come in, and Zelensky could say, we were only Putin-promising, not really promising.
See if Putin likes Putin style diplomacy.
My suggestion is that the western countries tell Russia that for every day they stay past Saturday 13th, that will be one year that Russia will continue to be hit by all sanctions including a complete ban on travel and participation in international sports. If they stay another 28 days, that means 28 years of said bans and sanctions.
On the subject of Putin’s proposals, I would go for the package on offer except for the honorary president part, Russia has no business telling another country who should lead it and who cannot lead it, etc. They really should not be rewarded at all but the three enclaves have populations that want to live under Russian rule so good riddance to them, hopefully this signals that Putin wants out now and realizes he made a blunder.
The Bible talks about the seven thunders, maybe this is the seven blunders.
LOL
Sounds like a reasoned deal, lettin the Kremlin off this easy.
“Agree. I thought Putin wanted the whole enchilada.”
That’s because you drank the koolaid coming from the deepstate and the MSM. Putin just wanted to protect Russia from the same forces that have destroyed this country.
