FORMER U.S. AMBASSADOR TO NATO KURT VOLKER: Well, I think there are ways to do this that mitigate those risks, if not- doesn't eliminate the risk, but mitigates the risk of direct conflict with Russia. First off, I think we have to recognize that the civilian casualties and the horrific scenes that we just saw are going to get worse. They're not going to get better. There's going to be massive airstrikes against Kyiv, against other cities, and it's going to be absolutely devastating. So if we can prevent that from a humanitarian point of view, I think we- we need to try. And the way to do this that I would recommend is we make clear the humanitarian purposes. We limit the scope geographically to Kyiv and western Ukraine, so we're not getting close to Russian borders. We make clear that we will only fire if fired upon on any ground targets. We are not there to strike anything. We make clear to the Russian military that we will not strike their aircraft or their helicopters as long as they stay outside the zone.

Well he is a person with an obsolete mind who does not understand the current dynamics.
putin seems trigger happy whenever no fly zones are brought up. a no fly zone would seem to imply MAD. MAD is bad. so how about a free ammo and small arms drop zone? with lots of ammo?
Really bad idea.
I sense another Oil for Food program brewing. They’re looking for a way to turn the Ukraine/Russia conflict into a cash cow. Someone gone get paid.

So, we are going to just shoo those mean old Russians back home. Fly in front of them and just dare them to fire.
But in the meantime, any Ukrainian aircraft is cleared to fly, I suppose.

Many of those “horrific” video scenes being shown were of events far away from Ukraine and years ago.
Yes...there are so many of these old war videos/photos from other nations being used, even natural disaster ones. Unfortunately these complicate an already dangerous war situation.
China Joe is in a nine line bind…..Russia has the goods on him and Hunter and so does Ukraine! He is walking the fence for both sides….I’m thinking Ukraine has figured this out….the world rallies around Ukraine and China Joes is in a bind….who will drop the dime on Joe first?

Either the rules of engagement will prevent the US from hindering the Russian airforce, or they will result in actions that precipitate WWIII.
There is no middle ground.
