There's a YouTube video with two experienced ex-Airforce pilots who make it very clear that trying to establish a no-fly zone over Ukraine is hopeless.

Either the rules of engagement will prevent the US from hindering the Russian airforce, or they will result in actions that precipitate WWIII.

There is no middle ground.
