Accompanied by Russian-speaking minister and top aides, Orthodox PM makes rare trip on Shabbat to meet with Russian leader, having offered to mediate between Moscow and Kyiv
Prime Minister Naftali Bennett traveled to Moscow on Saturday for a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss the war in Ukraine.
According to a statement from the Prime Minister's office, the two have been meeting for 2.5 hours...

Pretty sure this is getting serious folks. Lots of back channel stuff going on. Nukes involved. Getting ducks in a row Id say.
Now how do you know about “back channel stuff going on”. Are you privy to that? I’m very interested to hear why you think that .
End times stuff?
I cannot wait to read the gnashing of teeth against Bennett for flying to Moscow, let alone talking to the devil.
Putin Lover...sarc
Welcome to World War III.
We are in the first days of it.
Buy military Grade fall out masks and potassium iodide supplements to last for 2 years for everyone in your family.
It would be normal. Im not privy to squat. Diplomacy is all back channel as nearly as I can tell.
This might be helpful. Zelensky is Jewish, so possibly he’d be more willing to trust Bennett as a mediator.
This is a very serious strategic matter. That is lost on Joe Biden, and those here who think the Ukraine is a George Soros front.
Ukraine is large with large resources and strategic position.
If Putin gets Ukraine, he gets manpower, oil and gas, the Black Sea and Baltics, and a straight line across Poland to Germany.
If Putin leaves Ukraine or is defeated, it’s a huge setback for him, Russia, his army and even China.
What Biden did was the stupidest thing on earth. Announce that we definitely wouldn’t fight. That takes away all strategic threats and ambiguity, and few up the Russian army to concentrate on Ukraine.
Why do they let Poland send in supplies? Because that’s how the game is played. Putin does not want WW3.
It’s similar to Afghanistan where we obviously provided the weapons that destroyed Russian tanks and aircraft, but Russia wasn’t going to war over it.
Is Ukraine worth it to us or to Putin?
Maybe. A lot of factors indicate it’s not worth a world war over, but it is worth a war in Ukraine.
My best guess is that if NATO prepared to go in, Putin’s generals would tell him they have to look at things very differently.
We should at least do all we can to prevent a Russian victory.
No fly zone? I’d rather arm the Ukrainians to win the air battle.
The Global World Order must be maintained.
I can’t agree with that.
I’d rather have peace. It is an option, you know.
Hmmm...maybe 'cause at those secret back channels they gets out what they putin?
A no fly zone is Going to war with Russia no if, ands or butts about that.
We would have to destroy the Russian air force and anti-Air capabilities, and keep it from re-entering the Ukraine, while also asking them to Trust us not to go after their troops when they invariably commit other ‘atrocities’ of war.
We would never accept that, and Russia certainty wouldn’t particular given their military strategy.
As for doing all we can to aid Ukraine, our objective needs to be to avoid World war 3 at all costs including Ukraine.
By helping the Ukraine we are UNDERMINING NATO as well as our own survival by giving away its deterrence service for free and risking World War 3 rising the risks of NATO membership as well.
This is incredibility stupid for the west to be involved in at all.
We gain nothing:
1) Who controls the black sea is pointless, it will still be Turkey that controls access.
2) Its resources are redundant and competitive with resources we already have.
3) In the Nuclear age border length no longer matter as we just nuke each other if actually invaded.(Why Putin is being stupid too)
Possible. Zelensky asked Bennet to mediate, I believe prior to the invasion or the first day. Suggested Jerusalem for talks. At the same time, who else would you ask that might be acceptable to both sides? Kamala or Blinken?
Not to mention Ukraine is a major agricultural exporter, Russia an importer.
As far as I can tell, no real effort had been made prior to the invasion to exercise serious diplomacy to negotiate a settlement. Biden slept through the run up, and Europe sat on their hands waiting for Biden to wake up.
Now folks are saying we should talk.
What a cluster F…
It sounds like the adults are talking.
The US clowns would only detract from any serious discussion—so it is just as well that they are not in the room.
