The southern city of Kherson has seen an outbreak of protests against Russian troops.
The southern Ukrainian city of Kherson has seen a wave of protests today (March 5) as Russian troops advance into the region.
It comes as President Putin's invasion reaches its 10th day with a temporary ceasefire announced in the cities of Mariupol and Volnovakha, which have both seen frequent bombing.
Videos of the protests posted on media appear to show large groups of residents waving Ukrainian flags and chanting "Kherson is Ukraine".
Kherson was seized by Russian troops on Wednesday night and has since been subjected to intense bombing.
-snip-
But residents seem unphased with one man being filmed climbing directly on a Russian tank vehicle and waving the Ukrainian flag.

More Kherson protest videos below:
Massive crowds in Kherson. This is not an occupied city. Aggressor Russia doesn’t control the will of the Ukrainian people and will never conquer Ukraine.

When will someone come on and say that this is fake propaganda.
And the same in Mariupol. And yet, Putinists tell us that all the people in those regions are actually Pro-Russia and thus will welcome being made part of Russia’s empire of Orcs and Goblins.
Yes, “fog of war” or CGI fakes funded by George Soros, or maybe old footage from Syria where everyone looks Ukrainian. I am sure they will come to some explanation for it.
So how many Freepers are sick of the 24 Hour Ukraine Postings? This is worse than click bait.
The Russians are hard pressed to fully control the areas tthat they have “conquered”. They don’t seem to have the manpower to establish obedience. The KGB is not what it used to be. When they pull Chechnyan troops off the line for rest and refitting, look to them to be used as brutal garrison troops in places like Kherson.
If they try executing dissenters to tamp down resistance, it very well may backfire on them and stir up more resistance.
My mistake: should be Melitopol, not Mariupol.
I don’t know what Putin thinks he’s going to accomplish. He doesn’t even have enough people to populate Russia, if the civilians keep getting killed or leave and he keeps flattening cities what will he be left with? He is losing military aged men in battle, Does he have that many men to spare?
Exactly. Ukrainian protests today in “conquered” Melitopol, too.
Did you even look at the photos and videos posted in post 2?
People in winter coats, signs and billboards in Cyrillic, and the people speaking Russian (yes, many Ukrainians are native Russian speakers).
I can say I’ve seen some fake videos, but these are not.
You’re only deluding yourself if you think there are no Ukrainians fighting back or protesting.
Nor does he have enough troops to subdue and control the areas that he has “conquered”. The longer the quagmire, the weaker Russia becomes. Sooner or later, probably sooner, Putin will be deposed to stem Russia’s losses.
I just watched an interview from yesterday with a musician I follow who is in Kiev.
He is a very nice gentle guy. In the interview, Russia is the enemy, he talked about killing the enemy and how they have destroyed his city and lots of thousand year old history.
He owns a music studio across town and said that there was a massive blast in the area of his studio. He has no idea if the building is still standing.
Not fake propaganda...real propaganda, as in staged.
You should learn to spot the difference.
And the Russian army is not the same thing as the Soviet army. The Soviets lived in a very closed society. Russians are in tune with the world, what with internet, smart phones and social networking.
They are no more desirous of dying for the motherland than our own.
When I see a post I don’t want to read, I skip past it. Its real simple. Give it a try
Simply stunning.
Russia’s failure is adding up big time now. And I don’t really believe they “conquered” these towns. I believe the Pentagon and the Europeans warned them that Russian ships were approaching and they told the Ukranians to withdraw further inland in case of Russian coastal strikes.
Either that or they did it to provide troops in the battle for the airport 20 miles north of Kyiv, which resulted in the near total destruction of Russia’s armored vehicles and many killed/captured Russian soldiers.
Just today alone, several Russian helicopters and planes have been shot down. Without air protection, troops on the ground get turned into sausages.
