Zelensky condemns NATO for ruling out Ukraine no-fly zone - ("All the people who die starting today will also die because of you. Because of your weakness, because of your disconnection”)

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky lashed NATO on Friday for ruling out a no-fly zone over his country saying the Western military alliance knew further Russian aggression was likely.

Earlier Friday, NATO rejected Ukraine’s request to impose a no-fly zone to halt Russia’s bombing, but Western allies did warn President Vladimir Putin of fresh sanctions if he does not stop the war.

“Knowing that new strikes and casualties are inevitable, NATO deliberately decided not to close the sky over Ukraine,” Zelensky said in a video published by the presidency.

“We believe that the NATO countries themselves have created a narrative that the closing of the skies over Ukraine would provoke direct Russian aggression against NATO.”

Yes, I think you’re right. Which tells me I need to watch that movie again. It is a true all-time classic. One can never get enough of Animal House.

*snip*
“EU leaders are expected to discuss Ukraine’s prospects at a summit in Paris on March 10-11, the officials said.”
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2022-03-01/eu-agrees-to-move-to-the-next-step-in-ukraine-s-membership-bid

My guess is that somehow the EU will do some special expedited acceptance of Ukraine it’s in their best interest blah blah?

Then they will get involved and help Ukraine and then we will have to help because they are NATO partners?

That’s my best guessing.

They may not have much to discuss:

......... I’m pretty sure NATO does not have the power or jurisdiction declare No Fly Zones over non NATO Nations ......

NATO enforced a No-Fly Zone over Bosnia (then part of the former Yugoslavia) from 1992 to 1996. Then in 1999, NATO waged a 3-month air war to crush the Serbian government. For two decades when we were the only great power, we did whatever we wanted to whomever we wanted, and nobody could lift a finger to stop us. Now it appears the Russians have had enough of our meddling on their borders.

Well I cannot respect anyone “siding” with Putin. Putin has been our enemy for many years and was actively trying to get American troops killed in Syria. You don’t have to “root” for Ukraine but supporting Putin is really too much.

“Poland should be sold all of the weapons that it could possibly need to fend off an invasion.”

I agree.

The key word is sold not given.

I’m sick of these urbane European deadbeats wanting a protective umbrella on our dime.

They pay up & toughen up or no more new toys from Uncle Sam.

I don’t think NATO should openly get involved. I think experienced volunteers should go, I think arms and anti aircraft (Stingers.) should get sent in, I also can’t help but wonder if that convoy is real. You never see anyone walking around, are there really Russians manning those trucks and tanks?

This is also about the BRICS creating their own currency and getting away from the USD. Cant blame them given how corrupt we are. As for the Syrian war, that was promulgated by Obama and Hillary and the Globalists.

I bet you still love George W Bush.

But what do you mean by “Ukraine trusted NATO”

Trusted what about them? Trusted them to do what?

Trusted is the wrong word. Ukraine believed (falsely, but probably given a wink and a nod from the US) that NATO membership would be granted to back their play of becoming an anti-Russian border state.

Ukraine was USED, lured into a trap that delusional neocons thought could give them casus belli for the Russian war they have dreamed of since forever.

Surrender to Putin.

Keep your head.

Negotiate for your freedom and let Russia keep Donbas and Crimea.

Get a movie contract with Netflix.

Enjoy the good life.

Give me my $2/gal gas back and put the nukes back in the silos.

We're not coming to your rescue.

On the other hand, Putin cannot allow a democratic neighbor as it would call into question Russia’s non-democratic government.

Listen to the Victoria Nuland 2014 phone call with the US Ambassador to Ukraine as she basically appoints the new Ukraine government like a freaking EMPRESS, and then get back to us about the "democracy" in Ukraine.
