If Putin slid Macron a million or two into his personal bank account, Macron would throw ukraine to Russia in a heartbeat.

Send enough Javelin's and other weaponry to the Ukranians and give them intelligence on Russian troop movements, let them do the job. They've been capable up to now.

Macron is the Justin Trudeau of the EU - a self-important fairy.
Before the recent Russian invasion, Macron was running around Europe, back and forth to Russia, etc... probably engaging in useless talk. He achieved absolutely nothing.
I think Putin basically told him “you’re wasting everybody’s time” and that was it.

Or, and it sounds horrid but that is war, use Ukraine as a proxy to severely degrade the Russian Army.
