To: Blood of Tyrants
You have some smart people on your city commission who are doing their jobs well. When you review a development application, you don’t let the developer design the infrastructure for the conditions TODAY. You design it to meet the needs of the area when all the undeveloped land around it is built out according to a master plan that may take years to develop.

Full disclosure … I am a civil engineer and I deal with this sort of thing all the time in my work.

I lived along a country road that has seen the number of housing subdivisions grow very rapidly in the past 30 years. The only infrastructure improvements the county has made is to widen the road at a couple of turnoffs. They built at least 6 new subdivisions (there were two when I lived there) and built a new middle school. The road has desperately needed widening for years (country road, no shoulders). The county has experienced 30% growth over the last 10 years.
