Ten years ago, today, we lost a giant: Andrew Breitbart. He was a visionary. We could go on and on about how Andrew was ahead of his time—about how he saw, over a decade ago, what we are seeing play out today in culture, media, and politics. We could talk about how many people he influenced in the conservative movement and how he taught those people how to enjoy the fight and how to fight to win—how to “walk toward the fire” as he would always say. Andrew was about something bigger than himself. He was about the movement as a whole.

In what seemed like such a short period of time back then, Andrew did so much for us.
For me, Andrew is probably the singular reason why I took a step back, re-evaluated, and started recording audiobooks. Leveraging the power of open source, I've educated tens of thousands of people - something I never could have accomplished had I simply kept looking at the grotesque viciousness of modernity and engaging in "nuh uh" arguments that people ultimately didn't listen to anyways.
I can't say I've done enough. I can say I've done what I know I am capable of doing, and I do know that I've had an impact of changing people's minds.
Thank you Andrew.
Andrew Breitbart ping
It’s been 10 years. It’s all gone so fast.
My favorite Andrew Breitbart event was when he offered $10K to anyone who had cell phone video of Tea Partiers using the N-word or spitting on blacks like the Drive By Media claimed for weeks.
Andrew is seriously missed. If he was still alive, he would still be a huge help.
I remember that day so clearly.
So tragic.
Very good analysis of Mr. Breitbart. It is true. “Politics is downstream of culture.” Pope John Paul II said the same thing in 1978, triggered fifteen anti-communist revolutions, etc. Culture without Catholicism is boring.
Thank you for this post. Many years ago, I had the honor of shaking Andrew Breitbart’s hand ...can’t remember if it was a CPAC or FR meeting in D.C. imho, he was definitely a visionary and, especially, a man of courage. He is very missed. Believe, Greg Gutfeld was close friend of Mr Breitbart and think Greg’s honest commentaries may be inspired by his friend.
