I see no Putin supporters, where do you get that?
I’ve watched football games where I felt my team wasn’t going to defeat the other. That didn’t mean I was rooting for the other team.
I think Putin is getting old and has run out of time to rebuild the Soviet Union. I see why he freaked out over NATO hemming him in. The stupid part is the two sides not solving this by negotiation. Ukraine is just a pawn between NATO and Russia, and getting the worst of it.
I’m hopeful the conflict is settling into a siege of the city with low combat in other areas and it will end quickly.

No, it is NOT.
Ukraine simply put doesn't want to be part of Russia.
If Russia could prove that Ukraine had nothing to fear in that respect then there would be no clamour to join NATO.
Why did Ukraine want to join NATO in the first place? Because of what Putin did in Georgia, because of Putin constantly saying that he wanted "little Russia" to join with Muscowy.
you guys fall for Putin's line of "this is NATO expanding east" - while forgetting that NATO didn't go out currying Poland etc. to join -- let's take ESTONIA for example - the people and the government have been desperately joining NATO, the EU, the eurozone, every kind of alliance.
WHY?
Because Putin wants to gobble them up

Firstly, legally, Ukraine is not part of NATO or any defensive pact now, so unless Ukraine invites the US or Poland in, it's a no go
secondly, the presence of foreign troops would play into Putin's propaganda
The fact that right now Russians are being made to fight ukrainians is demoralizing to the Russian soldiers. They do NOT want to fight or kill their brother Slavs.
And that is bad for Putin.
This was never about NATO. Putin is a KGB apparatchik who is humiliated by the fall of the USSR. He wants to recreate it and he doesn’t care how many people he has to kill to do it.
That’s somebodies mother, sister and brother dying in Ukraine today. Putin’s appeasers living comfortably here would be feeling different if their family under Putin’s bombs now. Guaranteed.
