Anumber of popular stories chronicling Ukraine’s resistance against Russia’s ongoing invasion – including those promoted by U.S. Congressmen, media outlets, and even conservatives online – have turned out to be false, despite garnering millions of shares and likes.
The viral, fake stories come amidst social media platforms rolling out robust “fact-checking” operations, often used to swiftly censor stories counter to establishment narratives or critical of the Democratic Party. These programs, however, have routinely failed to flag the following stories as false with the same tenacity.
1. The Snake Island “Martyrs.”
Thirteen Ukrainian border guards stationed on the country’s Snake Island, located in the Black Sea, were quickly alleged to have been killed by Russian forces, at the onset of Russia’s invasion. Audio recordings of what was allegedly their final moment went viral on social media, with a Russian warship demanding: “I ask you to lay down your arms and surrender to avoid bloodshed and unnecessary deaths. Otherwise, you will be bombed.”
“Russian warship,” came the reply, “go f**k yourself.”
The 13 Ukrainians, the country’s president Volodymyr Zelenskyy said, died “heroically.” He later promised to recognize each solder with the title of Hero of Ukraine. Days later, however, the Ukraine Navy revealed that the guards had actually been “taken captive by Russian occupiers” and were all still alive.

I’m tired of unending military interventionism and the chickenhawk trolls who want to use Putin or Russia as a foil to try and egg Americans into yet another war the chickenhawks won’t fight in themselves.
Being opposed to unending military intervention doesn’t make someone pro-Putin.

The US is not involved on the ground. So your racing around the web screaming anti Ukrainian propaganda is defacto propaganda support of Putin's illegal aggression. That just fact. That you get so emotionally hystreic when people point it out to you shows you know it t be fact
You have the option to oppose US intervention without being spending all your time trashing the Ukrainians who are fighting back against Putin.

Putin is trying to get them to surrender before he comes in with overwhelming force.

There is another photo purporting to be sniper girl, military uniform, multiple rings, no Air Soft, or Nerf, or whatever that is, but also probably fake. So there are multiple bogus images around purporting to be tied to the people in question. The president of Ukraine said the Ghost of Kyiv was a real person, but there is no indication that we have seen them yet. It makes sense to not plaster the face of the sniper and pilot all over social media to make it easier for the Russians to hunt them down.
