Rep. Ted Deutch (D-Fla.) announced on Monday that he will not run for reelection in November, becoming the 31st House Democrat to announce they will not run for reelection in the lower chamber this November.
Deutch will become the CEO of the American Jewish Committee, and in his statement he highlighted an “unprecedented rise in antisemitism” in the U.S. and around the globe.
Deutch, 55, has represented Florida in Congress since 2010, but moved to the 22nd congressional district from the 21st district in 2017 after redistricting.
The race before Deutch's announcement was not considered competitive by the Cook Political Report and Deutsch won with 56 percent of the vote in 2020.

Paul Ryan got more than that to retire on the GOP side to throw the House to the Democrats in 2028.
Ted Douche is leaving? Sees the writing on the wall so he wants to spend more time with the Douche family?
Make it forty, please!
More winning.
Can he take debbie blabbermouth along? Puleez!
The rats fleeing the Titanic continues
Good riddance.
Rats.
Sinking ships.
Not the last.
My mom’s congressman. Will be replaced by another Bocacrat. The influx from the north continues and don’t see this district turning red in my lifetime, barring the non-Orthodox Jewish community making an unprecedented political conversion.
They know what’s coming in November.
Repubs in districts like this need to start voting Dem primaries for the most centrist candidates, if the state laws allow it. That’s what the donkeys have done to us for decades helping turds like Murkowski and cheney stay in office.
He is scum but will be replaced by another RAT. This is world famous Broward county!
100% Correcto.
This is why open primaries are stupid for a party. Sure it can build up some name recognition, but it is crazy for a party representative to be chosen with any non party, non dues paying, members. It makes it difficult for people whom are part of a party to get their worthless leaders out in primary voting.
And in my opinion, if you are going to vote in the primary against your own party, vote for who is unlikely to draw any votes from independents and become un-electable in a general election.
Since the vast majority of the 31 Rat retirees are from utterly safe Rat districts (like this one), let’s keep the champagne on ice just a bit longer because the replacements for these guys are highly likely to be younger, “woke” nutzoid types who will make the retirees appear to have been “moderates”.
Of the 31 districts in question, there are a small handful which could/should flip:
Tennessee 5: (Cooper) should be a 100% solid Republican pickup. Too bad it’s at least 50% likely to be a RINO instead of a conservative.
Wisconsin 3: (Kind) almost went to the good guys in 2020 and should do so in 2022.
Arizona 1: (Kirkpatrick) was moved slightly to the right in redistricting — a rare win for Republicans anywhere! — so Kirkpatrick bailed and could be replaced by a Republican. Right now it’s a tossup.
Unfortunately, Democrats are set to pick up at least that many seats from retiring Republicans in New York (Reed, Katko) or seats that are being eliminated in Ohio (Gonzalez) and Illinois (Kinzinger). So the net effect of all that is somewhere in the vicinity of zero. And then there’s the gains Democrats have made, and are still making, in redistricting.
Patriotic Americans still could shift the House from Democrat to Republican control in the November election (vote fraud notwithstanding) but if that happens it won’t be the effect of these 31 retirees and CERTAINLY not the effects of redistricting which will cause that to happen. It will be angry Republican voters showing up in such numbers as to swamp all of the fraud and all of the Democrat gerrymandering.
Problem is a large number of the “white” voters are Jewish Democrats (it has the second largest Jewish population of any congressional district) and they always turn out in large numbers. Not gonna swing our way barring a conversion of what is the largest demographic in that district. Also remember that the 20% “Hispanic” population includes Colombians and Venezuelans who are not citizens and can’t vote.
