Russian President Vladimir Putin banned residents from sending money to bank accounts abroad and blocked payments on external debt, aggressive controls on capital flow made in response to punishing Western sanctions.
The Kremlin-issued decree said that foreign-exchange payments under loan agreements to non-residents of Russia were prohibited from March 1. It said that payments to banks and other financial-market organizations outside of Russia and money transfers through foreign payment service providers would be barred.
The U.S., European Union and other Western allies put forward plans to cut major Russian banks off the Swift financial network and to take action against the country's central bank, aiming to prevent Russia from using its foreign-exchange reserves to cushion its economy.

Seems like 1998. Back in the USSR.
Little Pukin is F*ed.
Bodies of Russian soldiers lay outside a school destroyed as a result of fight not far from the center of Ukrainian city of Kharkiv, located some 50 km from Ukrainian-Russian border, on February 28, 2022.
[A block on paying debts could “hit Russia’s financing for years to come,” he added. “It takes a long time for countries to get back to investment grade if they default.”]
[Investors on Monday sent yields on Russia’s dollar-denominated bonds issued offshore soaring to over 24%. They were less than 3% to start the year.]
Put a 25 mil. bounty on Putin
End of the problem

But I'm not so sure the world should get cocky. Russia has been conducting global military operations for a long time, see Syria for example. I'm just not sure their military is a paper tiger or if it is simply unwilling to go scorched earth in Ukraine.

“paper tiger or if it is simply unwilling to go scorched earth in Ukraine”
I think their military is mediocre.
Watched a video of a Ukrainian soldier look inside a Russian captured tank. He said “this shit is worse than our stuff”.
It’s nice knowing the Russians have more respect for the dead than Ukrainians. Can you imagine the NWO’s reaction if Russia photoed bosies of Ukrainians and placed them on the internet?
“Putin is loved by most Russians.”
That is why I have NO sympathy for any Russian suffering.
Long queues, ruble collapse, financial collapse. Bring it ON!
I think Putin was banking on Western Europe not having a backbone in applying stricter sanctions after the war started. I thought so too and was surprised when Germany finally relented and has shown some backbone the last 2 days in sending Javelins, finally agreeing to raise defense spending levels to the 2% requirement and going along with some SWIFT limitations. It is wreaking havoc on the ruble and it will be the Russian people who, feeling the economic pain from Vladimir’s excellent adventure, will end this war with Putin’s formally soaring popularity there falling to new depths.
Does it ever cause you pause to see just who is aligned with you in demonizing Putin? You are in lockstep with the biden admin, legacy media, congress and the entirety of the US bureaucracy. When was the last time any of these entities acted in your best interest or the best interest of America?
Will Putin snap and go nuclear?
“It’s nice knowing the Russians have more respect for the dead than Ukrainians.”
If I was Ukrainian, I would not give a crap about any dead Russian soldier.
Russians have no respect for the living, that’s what should matter to you. But you’re just interested in kissing Pooty’s butt.
“I’m just not sure their military is a paper tiger or if it is simply unwilling to go scorched earth in Ukraine.”
The Russians have a lot of things that can kill you, the problem is all of it is 30+ years old.
They can flatten a city no problem, but taking out individual SAM batteries in Kiev is just not possible with what they have.
That worked in Syria, but doesn’t for what they need to do in Ukraine.
This is about the Ukrainian people, and in Trump’s words, the atrocity which is being committed against them.
Only a soulless person would defend Putin after this.
Back in the nineties, after the Soviet break up, I was connived into supporting a man who was trying to drum up trade with the Russians who were trying to buy everything.
He got hooked up with an American aviation museum to find specific German planes thought to exist shot down in Russia. He was led to one in a swampy place that still had the German pilot in it.
