The United States Embassy has told Americans in Russia to leave the country immediately while outbound flights remain available.
In a security alert on its website Sunday, the U.S. Embassy in Russia warned Americans to flee the country due to the continued cancelation of commercial flights.
“An increasing number of airlines are canceling flights into and out of Russia, and numerous countries have closed their airspace to Russian airlines,” the alert said. “U.S. citizens should consider departing Russia immediately via commercial options still available.”
The U.S. Embassy further reminded Americans in the country that the Department of State’s Travel Advisory has set Russia at “Level 4: Do Not Travel.”
“Do not travel to Russia due to ongoing tension along the border with Ukraine, the potential for harassment against U.S. citizens, the embassy’s limited ability to assist U.S. citizens in Russia, COVID-19 and related entry restrictions, terrorism, harassment by Russian government security officials, and the arbitrary enforcement of local law,” the travel advisory states.

Nationalism as an idea came about 50 or so years after our war of Independence. It was influenced by the consolidation of European monarchies but is not an ancient concept. It is a garbage ideology exported from Europe to the rest of the world.
Russia has a declining population, a sh-t economy and high rates of substance abuse. They are much more of a decadent society than ours.

At present, the chance of getting hit by stray fire is reason enough to leave Ukraine, IMO. Plus all the other stuff that can happen in a war zone.
If the Russians take over, they or whatever puppet gov’t they install (reinstall) is most likely going to be facing in all but limited areas in the East a continuing insurrection - one that may have calm periods, but will also have unpredictable blow ups. Resentment on both sides will be high, and sometimes ugly. It would take extremely repressive actions to, well, repress this. Not something most people would want to get caught in by accident.
Moreover, until Putin & co. are gone, IMO the West has no choice but to grind Russia into the dust. This will take time, hundreds of millions will suffer, and resentments will be high.
All that said, the article is about leaving Russia, and, the reasons given are clear.

I don’t really care about Europe’s problems except when they affect me and my family. The dipstick in the White House is doing his damndest to cause this to affect us and I question his motives.
