Yes, it could. And if NATO is dragged into this, I fully expect China to take advantage of it and attack Taiwan.
This may have been the Russia-China plan all along.
Somebody is going to start WW-III.
Perhaps the Red Army was a paper tiger in all those years. The last significant victory they had was against Nazi Germany in 1945. They controlled the countries in the Warsaw Pact but they were already devastated in World War II. They fought the Afghans in a war and lost but to be fair, so did we.

Perhaps so, but then one of the first things Putin did when taking power 20 years ago was drastically shrink the size of the military and then modernize it (we were too busy celebrating our ‘victory’ in the Cold War to notice, or care).
He did well in Syria, although it doesn’t take much there to win (similar to Iraq, initially). So, tough to tell. My own hunch is that we got a lot of weapons into Ukraine and a lot of training done there under Putin’s nose, and so they may be fighting better than he expected. Of course if true, then it validates Putin’s concern about Ukraine being a threat to him, at least somewhat.
Hi.
Look up Istanbul on Google maps.
In the fwiw department, I’ve spent time in the Med and Mid east. Including TU and... never mind.
