The Ruling Class Is A Far Greater Threat To Americans Than Russia Is
TheFederalizt ^ | FEBRUARY 25, 2022 | CHRISTOPHER BEDFORD

There’s no gentle way to say it, but the truth is that a lot of us hate our elites far more than we hate some foreign dictator.

Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the invasion of Ukraine Thursday. He’d been fixing on it for a while. Most of the world knew it was coming.

By nightfall, their advanced forces had reached the capital city of Kyiv, and the situation looked dire. In the ensuing bloodshed, the internet was awash in hot takes. Not insignificant among them: That treason is amiss on the right, where our elites detect an insufficient support for the White House — and an insufficient hatred of Putin.

They’re shocked their bugles ring hollow in the ears of so many conservative and Christian Americans. Our lack of enthusiasm infuriates them to their core; they’re shaking with indignation.

So what’s the cause of this apparent treason? Why aren’t we charging? Why aren’t we all impressed with a government that’s afraid of racially profiling Chinese spies, or the carbon footprint of war in Europe? Why didn’t the Russians fear the diversity tweets of our NATO alliance, or our maternity flight suits and trans soldiers?

Why, they wonder, haven’t American conservatives flocked to their racist flag singing our racist National Anthem?

There’s no gentle way to say it, but the truth is that a lot of us hate our elites far more than we hate some foreign dictator. It’s a tough truth for the tough place our civilization is in — and surely, it’s a difficult truth for our ruling class to see amid the glare of their self-righteousness.

The Right To Rule

From Western Europe to West L.A., we know we’re governed by leaders in business, entertainment, and politics who hold scorn for our country, its history, its heroes, its people, and their religion.

They have the money and the power, too. They can freeze truckers’ bank accounts and mask children as young as three. They can order Australians into internment camps and host drag queen story hours. They can force vaccinations, close churches, arrest priests, bankrupt businesses, prosecute bakers, empty prisons, defund police, and sometimes even win votes.

One they can’t have, however, is the moral authority to rule a civilization they despise. They are the very thugs they claim to stand against; they have no legitimacy.

But now is not the time for this squabbling, we’re told. “Putin’s assault is an assault on the West!” But how can we take them seriously, when they are the same leaders who ask if we can have schools named after Thomas Jefferson; the same who pine over what primitive tribes our land was “stolen” from?

Putin has no such qualms about his own civilization (and it’s one of the core reasons our elites hate him so). This week, he said Ukraine is Russia’s land, steeped in its religion, culture, and history, so Russia is taking it. Another hard truth is that amid a Western elite who has forgotten who we are, it’s easy to look abroad at our enemies and envy the confidence they have in their own civilizations. Why don’t our leaders have the same?

The very question infuriates them even further. How, they ask, can we not follow when they are the experts? The experts who told us “America never was great,” or who questioned the American exceptionalism they now call on to defend the West?

Really: Who can follow a political left or establishment GOP calling us to defend Western civilization when just last week our culture’s triumphs were submitted as proof of our awful patriarchy? When they were apologized for?

Can we really take Ukraine’s inviolable border seriously, while defending our own is called racist?

Are we actually expected to ignore Putin’s claims of ancestral land rights in Ukraine, while we teach our school children to feel ashamed for living on land we say was stolen?

Of course not. These would be absurd.

“But how did this happen,” they ask. “How did conservatives turn on our rhetoric? On our wars?”

The only answer so many come to is, predictably, “Trump,” but the real culprits are in the mirror.

So Republicans and liberals can step up their podiums and their microphones and dismiss Putin as a mad dog and an enemy; after all, part of membership in our elite class is never having to think deeply.

But maybe — just maybe — in a moment of rare reflection, they might wonder why so many patriotic Americans aren’t following them. If they listen, a few might learn why so many are more interested in our enemies within, than their enemies abroad.

Lincoln was a large factor in the creation of our modern “ruling class.”
_______________________________
Lincoln died nearly 160 years ago. What he did certainly had its effects - including in the creation of a large government bureaucracy - but I think it is quite a stretch to blame a large part of today’s situation on him. Marxist ideas (including “progressivism” were essentially unknown in his lifetime, and they’ve been used by domestic and foreign enemies of this country and Western Civilization for the last 100 or so years to undermine us and foist a “ruling class” upon us (which is the goal, not a coincidental effect). Wilson, FDR, Johnson, Carter, Clinton, the Bushes and Obama have a LOT more to do with it than Lincoln ever could have.

I am one who hates the “elites” much more than I hate Putin.

I figure if Putin needs to be hated, let the Russians do the hating. I've busy with my own overlords.

Our illegitimate ruling class is too busy attacking and oppressing the American people and cannot possible fight a war overseas while maintaining power.

That's true. But it's also useful to examine the formation of the junta currently governing the US.

It's not even a real junta, with a few officials or military officers working in close collaboration to control the state.

There is a loose collection of Deep State officials, Dem Party officials and Dem Party politicians who make up the junta (and probably some big businessmen from tech). This loose network includes the state officials who conspired to rig the vote in 2020.

But because this was a loosely organized conspiracy, there is no unitary executive. Different departments have been farmed out to subparts of the collective, and with only a figurehead President, any decision cycle is slow and incapable of actually enforcing a uniformity of policy and is open to sabotage by any disaffected group.

As time goes by this will result in agencies working at cross purposes and near total paralysis of policy.

Putin and Xi don't have to worry about getting inside Biden's decision cycle, because there isn't any.

Look at the Ukraine crisis: Blinken has not brought up anything that hasn't been sitting in the diplomatic playbook for a long time and for which Putin has had ample time to prepare countermeasures.

Blinken has neither the authority nor the willingness to think outside the globalist box. Ineffective sanctions, stern words and a shambolic dispatch of a few troops is all he's got.

Xi and the mullahs in Iran can see this plain as day just like Putin even if the lapdog media tries to hide it. But as crisis piles upon crisis, the American people may finally wake up and see it plainly also. There's an interesting psychological factor at play here, too. As disaster piles on disaster, those who were not fanatics but disliked Trump will have an incentive to say "I was fooled" rather than take responsibility for their own bad choices. The GOP should start playing that up in terms of the Dem media's hiding Biden's obvious senility. Once that narrative is established, it's much easier to then get people to recognize that the election was, indeed, stolen.

That still leaves us with a Constitutional crisis, because there's no way to resolve this under the Constitution except for the hail Mary pass of making Trump Speaker and simultaneously impeaching and convicting Biden and Harris.

The dumpster fire Afghanistan withdrawal, inflation, the war in Ukraine and soon the war in Taiwan are all consequences of the stolen election in Nov 2020.

The real problem is that the US has no President.

"One would think from your commentary you believe there is some extra legal group out there that controls our society and our economy without going through our Democratic process of electing leaders."

And, most important, that these are the very same people who ordered a "war fleet" to "attack Southerners" in Charleston harbor, in 1861!

Who would ever believe such a tall tail?
Oh wait, I know somebody... ;-)

Sorry. You are right. I was being sarcastic, but the people I pinged were familiar with my intent from previous conversations.

I have been trying to make this point to them.

Facing about 750 Million in potential losses per year, the wealthy and powerful of the United States, urged Lincoln to go to war with the South to prevent their secession.

It is the secession of the Southern states that would have cost these wealthy men the loss of that money.

They seem to feel that the idea of Rich powerful men inducing a president to start a war to protect their finances is a ridiculous idea.

And then examples like this COVID business come along to demonstrate it's not so ridiculous.

Yes indeed!
That has been absolutely true since 1990...

Our communist masters have only just begun the purges and other evil deeds that they have schemed & planned for over the past 70 years...

That is true but the sheep have been hypnotized into believing Russia is. China is a far greater danger to us than Russia is. As far as that goes, Yap Island is a greater danger to us than Russia. Our greatest danger is the Southern Border where terrorists, drugs , and gangsters from all over the World are funneled into the United States. But the sheep heard do not care about that.

There's built in incentives to push forward the wrong types of people - and once in office - to make it almost impossible to run against them and win.

Seems lowlifes who have no business being anywhere near power are careful to build bridges, moats, and create personal 'standing armies' to protect their positions. Yes, there are laws designed - by them - to protect the power of being 'the Incumbent'...
