Ukraine is being hit by a second wave of missile strikes from Russia following a heavy bombing campaign this morning.
An adviser to the president confirmed the fresh round of attacks after explosions were heard in a number of cities.
Footage shows a military warehouse near Odessa being obliterated while another video appears to show a number of Russian helicopters attempting to seize Antonov Aiport.
The strikes come after Ukraine’s border force confirmed a checkpoint between the Kyiv region and Belarus had been overrun by Russian forces.
Troops and tanks have entered the Vilcha crossing, which lies less than a 100 miles north of the capital on a road which runs directly to the city.
It’s the first sign of a significant ground invasion making a breakthrough in the west of the country.
The checkpoint is around a two-and-a-half drive from Kyiv, which has sustained rocket strikes since this morning.

Won’t Hunter be pissed if his Ukraine is attacked?
I am with in blast radius but, I have a nice wood desk I can crawl under. That would work. They taught me that in school.
“Doesn’t make sense to me, is Ukraine worth destroying your own economy and very possibly causing Putins overthrow?”
No it does not make sense.
Might as well be Warsaw 1944-1945.
So he’d rather be attacked in retaliation?
What’s funny is that before the Nazis invaded the Soviet Union, the official Soviet position was that it was an “Imperialist War” and the US should stay out of it.
I don’t believe any reports.
The media is not trustworthy.
“only Ukrainians that are for it ...”
For what?
What is “it”?
You do know that the Russians and Ukranians actually have some of the same tanks and such, right? No proof that that is actually a Russian tank burning there - remember, propaganda gets used by both sides. Sure, it could be a burning Russian tank, but it could also be a burning Ukranian one - it’s not got the distinctive hull shape of the one tank type that Russia has that Ukraine doesn’t (the T-14 Armata), and there’s not enough left to tell which variant it is of the types they have in common.
Biden needs to get really tough and threaten to send in the 182nd All Tranny Division. That’ll scare Putin into leaving.
“I like it better when Russians took out Hitler.”
U.S. paused our advance to let the Soviets get there first.
Mistake.
Most Russian tanks run on diesel and due to how the European car market was forced to evolve, there’s plenty of diesel supplies to be taken off civilians to keep Russian armor going for a while.
Also, if the US hits Russian fuel supplies, Russia turns off the gas taps and Western Europe freezes. Maybe Biden shouldn’t have killed off our LNG export system started under Trump to avoid just this problem.
I give Taiwan about a month before China starts something.
Lots of smart and wealthy people there.
So if we see an exodus of them, we’ll know the time has arrived.
I have relatives there. They’re looking at leaving.
Civilians are fleeing. Not troops. And Zelenskyy just forbade all military aged males from leaving.
Then they would already be in control. They’re not. I’m also reading reports that the Ukrainians have retaken Antonov airport.
The way I’m reading it is Putin probably weighed two options: 1). A divided Ukraine, perhaps at the Dnieper, with a pro Russian East and an anti-Russian West, requiring an occupation force in the East. 2). A united Ukraine with a reliable pro-Russian puppet government sitting in Kiev minimizing the need for an occupying force. I believe Putin has chosen door 2.
