Russian troops ‘closing in on Kyiv as Ukraine suffers second bombing wave’-

Ukraine is being hit by a second wave of missile strikes from Russia following a heavy bombing campaign this morning.

An adviser to the president confirmed the fresh round of attacks after explosions were heard in a number of cities.

Footage shows a military warehouse near Odessa being obliterated while another video appears to show a number of Russian helicopters attempting to seize Antonov Aiport.

The strikes come after Ukraine’s border force confirmed a checkpoint between the Kyiv region and Belarus had been overrun by Russian forces.

Troops and tanks have entered the Vilcha crossing, which lies less than a 100 miles north of the capital on a road which runs directly to the city.

It’s the first sign of a significant ground invasion making a breakthrough in the west of the country.

The checkpoint is around a two-and-a-half drive from Kyiv, which has sustained rocket strikes since this morning.

We really have no business being involved in Ukraine.

But St. Petersburg is conveniently accessible from the Gulf of Finland.

“and urban warfare is a byotch”

It will be quiet after the first 10 days.

Russia will not employ western methods of occupation.

I like it better when Russians took out Hitler.

Even though the 1940s Russians were our "friends" against Hitler, it is exciting to watch the Frank Capra films of Why We Fight where the Germans are knocked out by scorched earth, all out total war and determination to save Russia.

I have the dvds, of course, but there are streaming versions (if still permitted to us peasants). That's why I get dvds. title: The Battle of Russia, Part One and Part two.

One analyst on the radio said an incentive for Putin today is to avoid Russia being sneak attacked again, so he wants to build a wall of security in the East. Even though 1940s were a long time again, people in Russia remember it all. Asked "But will anyone attack Russia now?" the analyst replied: "That's what America said the day before Pearl Harbor." True.

western europe is already a vassal state to russia ever since it went “green” and shut down its nuke and coal plants and imported 75% [according to Trump] of their energy from russia ... russia has already won its war with western europe without firing a shot ...

makes zero sense for the U.S. to involve itself in yet ANOTHER European war that those idiots brought upon themselves in the first place ... they can freeze in the dark while they shake their fists in defiance at putin ...

in the mean time, Dementia Joe gets to claim that bidenflation and all the rest of the economic destruction he deliberately fostered in the U.S. is putin’s fault ...

so, western europe gets to reduce its carbon footprint, putin can grab as many former soviet provinces as he wants without fear of NATO intervention, and dementia joe gets an excuse for killing the American economy ...

i think that’s what they call one o’ them thar win-win-win sitsheashuns ...

But Biden “looked into his soul”.

He said that when he met the late James Brown, too. RIP.

Russia has a huge demographic problem. It’s so bad that 5-8 years from now they will not have the man power to conduct this war. So put the word out that the US will grant immediate citizenship to 1 million Russians aged 16 to 30 who have no criminal record. First come first served as long as the war continues.

Corn Pop....

But due to jab proof restrictions, lack of workers and big supply chain issues, they sent Corn Flakes instead.

Not quite the same reaction.

Has there been any real resistance? Saddam gave us more resistance the second time around. Ukraine at least according to both Wikipedia and the CIA Naition handbook possesses significant military resources. The Russians are attacking on three widely separate fronts, four if you count Kiyv Airport and I doubt they have the logistical tail to support them all if faced with real resistance. It’s like the Ukie govt and military had and have no plan to defend their country. And do their troops have the will to resist.? Ukraine has 150,000+ ground forces. That would seem enough to be more than a speed bump to the Russians. Apparently not.

US hits Russia and it’s “Hello, WW3”! All bets are off.

Yes.

All these years of mutual assured destruction have not erased the terrible possibility that two egotistical world leaders will posture, escalate and bluff and escalate some more until only World War III is left with nukes to wipe us all out.

We can't stop them from starting a nuke war any more than in the 1964 Dr.Strangelove. Why can't those screenplays stay fiction?

The Ukrainians are fighting. There are many livestreams out there providing details of their actions. They are doing a helluva lot with the Javelins that were delivered to them. They retook the Hostomel airport, and have been shooting-down Russian aircraft.

You should all do yourself a favour and read Putin’s address which the fake news won’t touch. I challenge anyone to read it and not conclude that Putin is RIGHT. This war is a creation of EU greed, NATO overreach, Soros, the CIA, defence contractors, and the wave of culture destroying western NGOs the west has poured into Ukraine.

And if you’re not worried about the leaders, there’s always the underlings and accidents to keep in mind!

Ukrainian’s are fleeing. That’s part of the valve release with the EU. If there is a problem, just flee to another country. Same for all of Latin/South America.

Heading to Poland. Now there is a silver lining, if Poland takes in the bulk of Christian Ukrainians, the EU will layoff on forcing them to take in Muslims.
