Explosions have been heard in the Ukrainian port city of Mariupol, as fears mount that shelling is underway.

Residents in the city, which is located in south eastern Ukraine, have been woken up by blasts 30 miles from the Russian border.

Several reports of explosions in various cities, but nothing so far as to what type explosions. Artillery fire, rockets, fighter planes, local saboteurs? Looks like the specific type explosion would be IDed at some point.

To "denazify" Ukraine in the eyes of the Putin regime (and its apologists in various places) would mean conquering western Ukraine as well, since that's where most of the "Nazis" are.

Perhaps, or maybe ‘encouraging’ an overthrow of present government (or resignations) there and replacing it with one not so hell-bent on joining NATO. I suspect, at this point, that Putin is giving the Ukrainians some help in understanding their options.
