To "denazify" Ukraine in the eyes of the Putin regime (and its apologists in various places) would mean conquering western Ukraine as well, since that's where most of the "Nazis" are.

Perhaps, or maybe ‘encouraging’ an overthrow of present government (or resignations) there and replacing it with one not so hell-bent on joining NATO. I suspect, at this point, that Putin is giving the Ukrainians some help in understanding their options.
Exactly.. it’s a political slur... it’s pretty much telling the Ukrainian government they are coming for them.
Why stop at “denazifying” Ukraine? Putin could make that claim for any country in Europe.
