As many as 1,000 truckers are expected to gather in California on Wednesday to embark on an 11-day trek to Washington DC in an effort to protest what they claim are unconstitutional COVID-19 mandates.

It has called on the federal government to end the National Emergency enacted at the start of the pandemic, arguing that the threat posed by the virus has now receded.
***
People's Convoy organizers claim they do not intend to disrupt roads or bridges, like the Canadian protest did.
***
However, some semi-truck drivers are already calling for widespread blockades, including Bob Bolos who on Monday vowed the Beltway and other roads in and out of DC will be shut down.
The convoy is expected to arrive in DC in early March which some experts allege could disrupt traffic around the Capitol ahead of President Joe Biden's State of the Union address. Others have expressed concern that the convoy could result in a recreation of the January 6 Capitol insurrection.
The Pentagon is expected to approve the deployment of 700 to 800 unarmed National Guard troops to the nation's capital, a U.S. official said Tuesday, in face of trucker convoys.
The Metropolitan Police Department of DC has added 500 officers to its deployment each day in early March and the fencing that surrounded the Capitol complex for much of 2021 will be reinstalled next week. *** As a preemptive measure, Capitol Police has scheduled officers on 12-hour shifts, with plans to reinstall the fencing that surrounded the Capitol complex last year. Democrats, mainly Pelosi, insisted the fencing was a needed precaution following the January 6 riot.
The Pentagon is reportedly considering sending the National Guard to the capital ***

I love all the keyboard warriors who frequent this site pooh poohing Americans actually protesting these totalitarian mandates! All you losers do is sit behind your computer doing nothing!
It wouldn’t matter what the protest involved, you same losers find a reason to be critical of it!
Read the comments to a similar article on The Hill. The Democrats are just itching for this protest to turn violent so that they can further the clampdown.
Instead of a convoy, we need to be reviewing the emergency powers in our own laws, and making sure that Biden can use them the way Trudeau has.
....
What do you propose? ((Crickets))
Since the pendulum is already swinging away from mandates. I don't see what a protest accomplishes. If anything it's likely to cause the Democrats to hunker down in their current policy positions.
So I propose no protest at this time. And a review of the laws, to make sure Biden can't use emergency powers the way Trudeau has used them.
Maybe we need additional legislation that states that
That's just a start. Y'all can supply additional legislative clauses. Think what legislation would have helped prevent Jan 6 protestors from being abused. And what legislation would stop the abuses being done by Truedeau.
Of course you have the protection of the Constitution as a shield against government overreach. The Jan6 protestors, incarcerated
and in solitary confinement, have enjoyed the same protection.
Soon it will be warm enough for the bikers to join in
Los Angeles is 2668 miles from Washington D.C.
So at $0.50 a gallon, that’s $1334 one way.
“...the pendulum is already swinging away from mandates.”
....
Um, you might want to ask our nation’s Healthcare professionals and our military how that’s working out for them!
I’ll guarentee you have zero skin in the game and are detached, just like you were with your pathetic support of the lockdowns!
You are clueless!
Wow, lots of defeatism here. I”m glad it wasn’t that way at Concord Bridge.
It shouldn’t be JUST truckers, it should be everybody that can join. Make their lives a living hell, just as they have ours! Shut down DC!
So 3000 miles @ 8mpg @ $3.50 gal = $1312.xx
So for a trucker to do CA to DC and back is $2600. We should be helping fund that else I dont see many having that type of cash to burn.
Another opportunity for the FBI et al to infiltrate

They already did by picking the name ‘People’s’ - wouldn’t want to offend soyboys, BLMers, Antifas, Wokers, SJWs by using words in the name like “Freedom’ or ‘America’ or ‘United States’, etc.
Your plan makes a lot of sense.
Their plan so far, only makes for a lot of theater and photo ops. They may as well print up a program: Acts 1, 2 and 3. Maybe add a brief scheduled intermission somewhere. Refreshments will be served.
In spite of my sarcasm, I support their cause. I just hope they review the strategy.
Truckers should just loop the Beltway, just driving in one direction or the other. It is a choke point, and not criminal in the least to drive safely and slowly.
And just as effective.
I’m so confused on the purpose here. The strategy is baffling.

Just look at the name they chose and tell me its run by American patriots.
All going according to Soros’ minion’s plans.
The deep-state lizards in DC are prepared to go “Tiananmen Square” on such a protest.
America’s centralized, leftist elites in DC have reached that point.
This seems like a protest thought up out of emotion rather than a well thought out strategy. You don’t tell your enemy the best place and time to ambush you! Especially on the battlefield of choice your enemy prefers to fight on, in this case DC and television. And to top it off, tell your enemy he has two days to acquiesce, or else....nothing!?
This is stupid.
I don’t have much of a plan. I wouldn’t let my enemies know my every move, I know that. This trucker thing though, I think people think it’s still the 1970’s Smokey and the Bandit with legions of cowboy independent truckers, and that’s not reality. Most truckers drive local, for a corporation, from the depot to the airport, back to the depot, then to some local business.
People also forget about trains. Trains still move most of the freight. If you could get the Trains to stop running in coordination with the truckers, THEN you’d be talking serious business.
