MOSCOW/DONETSK/WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. President Joe Biden on Tuesday revealed new sanctions on Russian elites and two banks as the West tries to stop an all-out invasion of Ukraine by punishing Moscow for ordering troops to two separatist regions it has recognised.

Sanctions are being applied to VEB bank and Russia's military bank, Promsvyazbank, which does defence deals, Biden said. Starting on Wednesday U.S. sanctions will begin against Russian elites and their family members.

Tass news agency cited Promsvyazbank as saying the sanctions would not have a significant effect since it had taken precautionary measures ahead of time. It did not give details.

The European Union also agreed new sanctions that will blacklist more politicians, lawmakers and officials, ban EU investors from trading in Russian state bonds, and target imports and exports with separatist entities.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov earlier brushed off the threat of sanctions.

Kabuki.

All of this is theater and Russia will get what it wants. And will pay little for it.

This is not enough. Anything short of a total trade embargo is a waste of time.

And don’t forget, he also his the American people with sanctions. He said it would impact our energy prices, but that freedom wasn’t free. (So we have to pay the cost for others again)

A total embargo? We import about 12% of our oil from there sparky. And when we do that, they cut off Ukraine and Germany and the EU. So energy prices here spike. You know, like in July of 2008 when they hit $147 a barrel, sparking the 2008 housing crash.

Cold warriors frustrated that they never got their big final varsity game, and democrats angry that Russia dumped communism are gonna implode our economy yet.

Good thing you weren’t around in 1941 or we’d have continued selling steel and oil to Japan because to do otherwise would cause prices to go up.

If Biden’s handlers and democrat party Kansas City Faggots were serious about Russia, they would push domestic policies to drive the price of oil down, way down, yet do the opposite.

Russia is making bank with the price of oil going up. Hence, Wag the Dog, push for war, and commence bringing pain to pawns in all of this pathetic theatrics.

Biden promised devastating sanctions. Anything short of that is a big loss for him.

The biggest action we could take against Russia is for Biden to drop his opposition to the American oil industry. Trump’s support for American oil put a serious crimp in Russian oil profits. Biden’s unwillingness to enrage his leftist base shows how much he really supports Ukraine and is willing to confront Putin.

Putin Recognizes the Independence of the Russian Brighton Beach Republic. (Formerly part of Brooklyn, NY - just a brief historical anomaly)

Coming to the aid of the oppressed Orthodox Russian community there, Vladimir Putin has announced that he will heroically allow the residents of Brighton Beach to participate in a referendum to re-join his empire, as history dictates. In his new role as the Father of All Rus, he has prepared a professional group of his loyalists, already equipped and trained to conduct and count the referendum. In the interim, Russian speaking males of military age (16-60) in the area are directed to register for their military assignments, through a convenient website linked on the Russian Embassy home page – or they will be purged after re-integration occurs.

Just kidding.

You got it backwards, FRiend. Biden has deep connections to Ukraine (Burisma), Russia & China. By killing energy production in USA, Biden has greatly helped Russia to earn more foreign exchange money, due to increase in price of oil.
