MOSCOW (AP) — President Joe Biden announced the U.S. was ordering heavy financial sanctions against Russian banks and oligarchs on Tuesday, declaring that Moscow had flagrantly violated international law in what he called the “beginning of a Russian invasion of Ukraine.”
“None of us will be fooled” by Russian President Vladimir Putin’s claims about Ukraine, the U.S. President said. And he said more sanctions could be on the way if Putin proceeds further.

Putting nordstream on hold is just status quo, really, not a big deal; the sanctions will make life more complicated for Russia, no doubt; but there is this: Putin had to know what the “sanctions” would be, he’s had a couple months warning thanks to the idiot in the White House, so he will have prepared for this. My question is, what countermeasures is he likely to employ to retaliate. I am quite certain that whatever he does will catch the “Tiger team” by surprise. Liberals think people are like cigar store Indians and will just stand there and take whatever they dish out. They never anticipate that people will respond to their machinations with adaptations of their own.
And our PRESIDENT BOZO-BIDEN actually thinks that these oligarchs don’t have their money hidden in accounts over the Communist world and offshore blind accounts?
Nothing is going to hurt them except the stopping of the Nordstrom pipeline and reopening of the Keystone pipeline and gas/oil drilling & production in the US.

It sounded to me like Joe just gave Putin Ukraine. So, that’s done.
Biden said (paraphrasing) “we are not going to do anything outside of NATO territory.”
So, tie up some financial assets, a bunch of harshly worded memos. Maybe a symbolic Vote in the UN..

That’s a very good question. It may be that that a ‘full-scale’ invasion isn’t needed. Putin may be planning to take Ukraine in chunks rather than all at once. It’s possible that little violence will be required.
If Putin thinks that there is the possibility that Ukraine would join NATO, he might see it as his only option.
Just trying to see it from the Russian perspective. Would a guarantee of a neutral Ukraine, akin to what we have with Austria, be enough? No NATO troops, no Russian troops. I make that deal.
Next he’ll threaten Putin with a series of incentive packages.

Financial sanctions. Gee, so the message is, invade a neighboring Country or drive your truck to the capital - same basic penalty. Check.
Was this Pedo Joe’s planned response to what he called a “minor incursion”? Did he tell Putin up front what it would be? What Joe could do is oppose the Nordstream pipeline and do everything he can to increase U.S. energy production. What Joe DID do was approve the former and do his best to crush the latter. Little wonder Putin isn’t exactly trembling in his boots.
