Kamala Harris told reporters Sunday that the U.S. may face 'some costs' associated with involvement in Europe should Russia invade Ukraine, which she claims is all but certain.
When asked before departing Germany for the U.S. if Americans should be braced for economic fallout from involvement, the vice president said 'sure.'
'When America stands for principles, and all of the things that we hold dear, it requires sometimes for us to put ourselves out there in a way that maybe we will incur some cost,' Harris told a group of seven reporters in Munich on Sunday. 'And in this situation, that may relate to energy costs, for example.'
'But we are taking very specific and appropriate, I believe, steps to mitigate what that cost might be if it happens,' she added.
Harris also repeated President Joe Biden's claim that Russian President Vladimir Putin has already made up his mind that he will invade Ukraine and admitted the path for diplomacy is 'narrowing'.
'We believe he has made his decision. Period,' she said when asked if there was any evidence to point to impending invasion.
Harris publicly warned Putin in a Saturday speech at the Munich Security Conference of the 'swift and severe' consequences he will face if he escalates tensions in Eastern Europe, but reiterated on Sunday that sanctions will not be imposed until the point of invasion.

Open that window wide enough and toss her out!
All the best Ukrainians left there decades ago and came to Pennsylvania.
oh she’s out there all right...
Someone needs to do a Photoshop of Kamala riding the bomb, like Slim Pickens in “Dr. Strangelove”.
“Almost as confusing as the Spanish Civil War. We should stay out of conflicts that carry hundred years of baggage with them.”
Ha. Try the 30 Years War. i took a class and still do not understand it. I have a good understanding of the Russian Civil War as I have taught it. Still find a history of Eastern Europe more confusing than The Great Game or the history of the Caucasus.
I concur.
Russia’s gotta do what Russia’s gotta do.
We should stay out of foreign entanglements, as our greatest President once suggested.
My God, are these people as dumb as they act?
this so contrived it’s sickening.
Biden, weeks ago, let’s out that the US will not do anything if Putin decides to take over a small protion of the Ukraine. The idiot, knew then what Putin’s plans were, i.e. to take over some of the pro Russia territories in the East extending down to Crimea.
Now these ass hats are acting like, “hey, we prevented a war!” and take a victory lap,
Putin gets:
1. Ukraine to agree not join Nato.
2. Control of Eastern territories.
3. Still is in a strong position to ask for more, i.e. have US troops leave Europe.
In short, this would never have happened this way with Trump.
The media will declare a victory.

Kamala Harris was mocked after she appeared unprepared to discuss the Ukraine crisis during a Q&A with reporters at the Munich Security Conference in Germany.
“I mean, listen, guys, we’re talking about the potential for war in Europe,” Harris said at one point Sunday in response to a question about how the Biden administration saw the situation’s “endgame” playing out.
“I mean, let’s really take a moment to understand the significance of what we’re talking about,” the veep went on. “It’s been over 70 years. And through those 70 years … there has been peace and security. We are talking about the real possibility of war in Europe.”
Twitter user Jon Will Chambers summed up the thoughts of many by asking: “Did I just watch Kamala Harris claim there has been peace in Europe for 70 years?”
Washington Examiner reporter Jerry Dunleavy pointed out on Twitter that those 70 years of “peace and security” included the Yugoslavian civil wars of the 1990s, “as well as Russia’s attacks on Georgia & Ukraine.”
“Also, Berlin Wall only came down three decades ago so I’d quibble with 70 years,” he added before emphasizing in a second tweet that “it is not true there have been no wars in Europe for 70 years, nor do I consider the Soviet occupation of Eastern Europe ‘peace & security.’”
“Sending perpetually unprepared Kamala Harris over to attempt to quell a geopolitical crisis is such an outrageous move,” tweeted Republican communications maven Matt Whitlock.

“This word salad … may God help us all,” agonized Sean Parnell, a former GOP House and Senate candidate from Pennsylvania “We are being led by total buffoons.”
“Cue Veep closing credits,” cracked Republican pollster Patrick Ruffini alongside video of Harris’ filibuster.
Republicans and conservatives had looked askance at the White House’s decision to send Harris to the high-level conference, with many noting her failure to resolve the ongoing US-Mexico border crisis as President Biden’s point person on illegal immigration.
